hi!, i just bought my first rifle ever it is a ruger 10/22 wich i want to build and make it as accurate as possible, and im planning to do some training and a lot more training with it, so here comes the tough part, choosing the scope, I want to go big with the glass from the beggining so when i build the skills i can mount the scope on another rifle something like a 308 so the candidate i have is the sightron SIIISS832X56LRMD but my complain is that nobody has told me if this scope will focus at 25 yards nor have a clear image at 15-25 yards a its lowest magnification setting. im asking this beacuse its necesarry to shoot at those distances when silohette(tiny birds silouhettes) shooting in competitions (femeti) i know some scopes have a 10 - infinite yards parallax setting, im also considering the hawke 8x32-56mm mil-dot reticle. also here in my country sightron is one of the authorized scope manufacturers so im covered by a lifetime warraty if something is wrong with the scope, and the other manufacturer is leupold but their representative here in mexico have a very bad rep for customer service when you talk about warranties

please help!!

Well, I am unable to give advice on the scopes you are looking at, I can recommend Kidd or EGW for rails, what you do for rings will be up to your stock ad barrel configuration.
When doing your build, give Rimfire Central a look at bedding the entire action. Again, stock choice will have some influence. Good luck with your build. I have gone through a lot with mine, I can only add to look very carefully at the parts you will put on your rifle to make sure they will work together. And a drop in trigger unit such as a Kidd or Timney is a timesaver with real positive results.

Have you called Sightron or emailed them about the scope? Also could you find one to look at in person? I ask only because I don't know the market for such scopes in Mexico. What is the shooting community like where you live, is it popular?

Why would you even consider a scope like that for what you want to do??

Leupold EFR scope, 6.5x20. It will focus down to about 40 yds maybe a bit closer, and they used to have a 50 foot adapter that you could buy to add to it, don't know if they still do. They are expensive, but they come with a lifetime warranty. This applies to used ones as well. They would be a scope that you could put on a 308 later on.
