Idatabook went live last night

Re: Idatabook went live last night

As far as I know I don't think so. Idatabook was here for the 2011 Sniper's Hide Cup and they were going over it on Sponsor Demo Day. I know they have made a lot of changes since then and I also know that they have more stuff planned. But as far as a comparison, I honestly can't tell you...sorry!

Re: Idatabook went live last night

I tried to input some data from my book and I'm having issues with it.
1. Once it saves the page I can no longer open the page. It opens for a second then goes back to the rifle page.
2. No matter what direction I say the light or wind is coming from it saves it as 1200.
3. The pages are listed by date so you have to open them to see what yardage they are for... which brings me back to #1 as it won't allow the page to stay open.

I looked for a tutorial but can't find anything.

I'm pretty sure that in Texas, the wind always is 1200 (LOL)!

I too am getting the same results for light and wind direction, no mater what I try the range card always shows 12:00.

I'd like to add some "complaints" to the list.
4. There are only 5 targets to choose from. Where are the diamonds, the squares, the dots?
5. I like all the drills, but once again there are no programmed targets for them.
6. how about the ability to view the pages in landscape mode, I like the page layout once generated but it'd be nice to see it all without moving the screen around.
7. This will go back to complaint #3 how about the ability to name each page?
8. How about a way to search through the info. For example if I want to see all my pages from one particular range, or yardage, or elevation?

I don't want to say I'm not happy with the purchase yet, but $29.99 is a good chunk of change. I hope these oversights will get fixed quickly.

Re: Idatabook went live last night

Hate to add to the pile on, I don't understand why the orientation is disabled. Reading various things on my iPhone, I can't really blow them up wide enough to read comfortably, to rotate the screen would give me more 'area' to work with. So, let's try it on the iPad, I can take that with me to the range. Everything's out of focus on the 2x. What gives with that? Makes reading the charts impossible. I realize it's just been released, sure hope there's changes inbound soon.

I am sure that the designer of this app is aware of this problem by now but I will try to contact him to let him know. I bet there are probably 1 or 2 bugs that need to be worked out. I'll see what I can do.

Hey, thanks for doing that. I know it's not your program. Just wanted to say thanks for the help.

Re: Idatabook went live last night

We are working on these issues. The landscape mode is not a standard feature for programs on the iPhone, which I wasnt aware of until too late in the game. Also, the other features that are not working now, worked prior to the transfer to Apple, otherwise I wouldn't have released it. I am communicating with the programmer to get these issues resolved as soon as possible.

Thanks for the response, I'm really looking forward to the fixes, I think you've got something here. Keep up the work and it'll come around!

Re: Idatabook went live last night

Wait until v2. Fundamentals are good but there are some bugs that need to be fixed so that important features can be used. Metric imperial issues need to be addressed for application outside USA. Needs a good tutorial. I think these are being worked on but I would hold off until then.
