Got them rigged to take 209 shot shell primers and they work great

The problem is, someone tripped one last night (maybe at wee hours of the morning) and my wife thinks she had heard it, but I didn't hear it
either way I didn't go rushing outside to see what happened, but I did determine today that 100% someone went into my backyard and tripped the wire I had connected to this device (was not an animal)

I have about 3/4 acre yard, (semi-private, end of street, my property ends at a 40 foot drop), there is no reason for anyone to be walking around anywhere near my house, no reason other than being up to no good.
Although the shot shell primer is loud (and pretty sure it scared off the person that tripped it) it is not loud enough

and now whomever is prowling around knows they tripped something, so my guess is the prowling will not stop (been going on for 2 years now, long story) but the person doing it might be more careful now.

I am looking for the next idea, staying legal and reasonable (can't put a 6 x 6 with spikes swinging down on them even though I want to) but I might be willing to skate the edge of that depending on the idea.

Going to replace the 209 primer setup with 12 gauge pepper spray shell, and put it in a slightly different location (even more hidden)

but what other trickery might I be able to install?

Corn fields could hide people so you do not see them , dog cages with dogs trucks or cars on blocks always a classic picture . I might be able to buy 2-3 hundred foot each hoses to hook it up, but then need to fill the final hose with permanent marking dye and skunk smell

Yes, I have cameras on the front and side, but difficult to get a camera far enough out the rear to be useful.
Unless I used a game camera, but the picture quality of the game cams I have seen seem to suck

That fence charger isn't going to do what you want it to. I have 12 joule chargers and sure they pop the shit out of you, but it's not going to keep someone out that wants to be on your property.

Yeah had an asshole neighbor next door would back his dual axle landscale trailer across the bottom of my driveway and sidelawn . He would park acros his lawn but it was too big to make the turn for his driveway . Once I realized why my lawn was getting turfed I went out and hosed it personally for six hours , give or take . I fuck knob had tried to cross that part of the lawn he would hae sank it to the fickin windows . I did this after the shitbag had already parked his shit for the night . As for your intruder I'd get some NODS , and use your imagination within the bounds of legalities and well . A box full a snakes on a motherfucker goes a long way . So does a train horn , blinding light and the sound of a pack of dogs running you down when blinded by said light . I am goin on record as having said nothing about frozen paintballs . the why is general mischief and vandalism on my property
frequency is about every 1.5 to 2 months
He is always armed - conceal carry, so I am not going to start shit with him on purpose

Reported issues to local police, report made, but understand there isn't much they can do without hard evidence (and as a side comment, the police already know him and not for good reasons)

The problem with cameras is the clarity at the distance I need AT NIGHT.

I can try to add one more camera out the rear of my house, I have another one that is POE just need to figure out how to run the wire, not impossible

And they do not even need to be big, aggressive military and police type fur missiles. A small to medium yappy one, with a LOUD bark, will be suffice. All I need is to be woken up promptly and efficiently so I can grab a rifle or big revolver and take up a position in the darkness. Seriously if you want to be awakened, I'm not kidding, get a Dachshund. They have unbelievable hearing and they will alert you. It can live with you in house and you'll be awakened. I'd look up your state's laws on this stuff - last thing you want is for this d-bag to end up owning your s*** because your state allows trespassers to file lawsuits against homeowners and the courts are sympathetic. No trespassing signs are your first step from what I know. Game cameras of course like everyone has stated, positively ID the jack-ass, and get the authorities involved.

Most of the "fun" you could have with the guy will probably land you in some hot-water, unfortunately.
