Friends and family walking in and out and in backyard BBQ open carry and dragging tactical type firearms in and out.

They don't come around.

I hope that's how it works, but I'm always afraid to show I have guns. I figure if folks know I have guns, they'll try to rob my house when I'm gone. Heading to the range or hunting, I try to use the back side of the house for loading and unloading.

If this intruder is getting past a fence you should check local laws . In some jurisdictions IIRC climbing a fence marked no trespassing is breaking and entering . Check it out .
So the serious legal approach ;
Document everything .
Take before and after pictures
Trailcams for photo evidence
Police reports
Document any harassing phone calls to daughter .
Speak with CCW issuing agency and express your concerns . Have it documented . When you file police reports do the same . Paint the picture that you fear for the safety of you family .
No trespassing signs .
Find out or better if legal in your AO get a copy of this guys criminal record . You will be able to testify that ; you knew , you feared and it will be admissable in court . If you do not have document his Defense or a Prosecutor can argue hear say , prejudicial and you cant prove you knew at the time ie inadmissable .
You have to become Bob fuckin Ross and paint the picture for the Criminal Justice system .
Don't lie . Not questioning your character and one lie can trash your whole case .
Go to a therapist . I am in fear for my family's safety . It will help in your defense should asshole chose to do something that leaves you with no choice to Defend yourself or your Family. Therapist can testify .

If all this seems like a lot think about being a fuckin greeter at Walmart , takin the fuckin bus , no more firearms and living in rent assisted shitholes because you were convicted and family of shit bag sued you for every fuckin thing you had .

I have moved since all this happened, I live about 700 miles away from that house now.

I will give one more follow up as this is funny as hell.

My daughter got sent a link from a friend showing her ex boyfriend got arrested and at least was temporarily in jail

Just shows what a wonderful person he was, his mother a doctor, and his father a lawyer

He got arrested for spitting on an old lady while screaming at her that he had covid and her old ass would die if she caught it
Not going into too many personal details, his interaction with the old lady was part of his job, I hear he lost the job too.



You just can't make this shit up. I hope he stays in jail, but I am sure his lawyer daddy will get him out....

I have 2 Rottweilers & several game cams that are mounted in near indestructible steel boxes with padlocks protected like a gangbox (my own design, built by me!) My culprits were drug-head step daughter & friends, so once word got out about my cams my stuff stopped going missing. If someone pulls over next to my yard, dogs go off, Zoey is 120#. But I agree about the little dogs making more noise, hard to beat a Chihuahua with an attitude.

Mine are not vicious, but if you didn't know them, they look intimidating. When I 1st bought this land I was mending my fence, my neighbor stopped to introduce himself and tell me the fence wouldn't keep the thieves out. I said it's to keep my Rottweilers in, they'd keep the thieves out.

Once you get a pack, there will always be ones challenging to be pack boss or for their position in the pack.
It's not really something you can dictate as easily as many think.
Dogs usually eventually work it out themselves, it's just that humans don't usually like the fine details of how animal packs establish and maintain their order.

I think the best route would have been to capitalize on the daughter’s affinity for “bad boys”. I would have found her a new boyfriend with a nastier disposition, and a jealous streak. He would’ve taken care of the ex, and the cops would’ve taken care of him, win win. The best part is no liability exposure for me.
