It reminds me of when the police chief in my town tried to convince me that business owners were grateful and appreciative that the city and police would be enforcing a $1,000 fine if these same people didn’t tell their unmasked customers to leave their businesses. What actually wound up being the solution to the whole DUI thing was when Uber and Lyft and similar services made getting a ride quick, cheap and convenient. As noticed by some "police" types complaining about the drop in income due to not being able to extort people.
You'll find the police often pushing the bounds and trying to make fake DUI roadblocks to do some other law enforcement purpose that they don't have permission to do, but figure if they hide it the stupids will comply.

there is a video that has been out for years, perhaps many of them, with a guy explaining why you should never talk to the police without a lawyer present, even if, and maybe especially if you have done nothing wrong.
I had called the police one day and they actually got a little pissed that when asked if we could go inside to talk I said no and closed my door as I stepped outside.
I know all out officers, but I'm still not letting anyone in our home unless they are family.

It's interesting to note that one of the first things Acevedo talked about after the botched 2019 Houston drug raid was to call for more gun control. It seems that leopard just can't change his spots.
