I usually purchase IMI ammo from Midway USA (55grn and 77grn). I recently looked and notice they no longer carry it? Anyone know where to purchase more or a good alternative?

Midway had some close out IMI 338 Laupa at $1.46 per rd TYD. Yes I loaded up, an my POS stick, eats it like candy. Only loaded with 250smk's but for general banging of steel be it a point target or otherwise not a bad price. I did not believe the price until it was in the cart, paid for an, I had a tracking #. Blind squirrel here.
Do you know what brass IMI uses in their 338LM load? I presume their own, but if it's Lapua I might pick some up for cheap practice and adding to the brass stash.

It was OOS in less than 24 hrs. Pin point short, LR, or ELR w/a 338LM does/is not of interest me.

The Frontier M193 is also pretty hot and shoots great in my experience, if you are looking for good m193. The federal stuff sucks

I buy whats lowest per round when I buy M193. So I have literally stacks of everything from IMI to Federal Independence to PPU to Federal battlepacks to MEN to crates of Czech NATO M193.
For some reason the IMI I've shot looks like Michael J Fox was shooting the gun.

Have to watch the freight with some of those folks though. Yea it was a good deal for close range stuff, as the only bullet I load now (Lehigh)is right at 100 bucks to my door alone for just 50. However the 250 smk's will work fair for 700 an in.

i've shoot thousands of rounds of imi 55 fmj at my range, and that stuff is dirty as hell.

We have a farm in the heart of the Ozarks that we are getting ready. Our plan is to be able to start moving our Machine Shop and have everything paid for by the time the next elections come around. who knows what's going to happen then with the derangement coming out of the left...
dang! back around august and september last year they were selling the 77gr for 50c a round shipped every couple weeks theyd open up the sale.
I don't shoot the 55gr.........but I think it is some of the best ammo available............maybe a little hot..........
ive never had a failure with the 55, and i dont shoot it for groups. midway was running a sale about a year ago, and it was cheaper than wolf gold. I dont like how dirty it runs, but it is reliable.

ES of 70FPS.
While that’s certainly not good, I think that’s the norm for factory “match” .223. Federal Gold medal match .223 yielded ES over 100fps.
I have never used any of them. It doesn't sound like I am missing anything. Even though for 95% of my 223 shooting, 100fps ES isn't going to make me miss.
Ive got a ton of that stuff, shooting it suppressed is horrible. massive cloud of blowback. I thought there was something wrong with my setup until I tried different ammo.
