Impact Muzzle Brake

This may be a dumb question as the brake looks pretty symmetrical, but does the orientation of the brake matter? Ie are the ports slightly angled to reduce muzzle rise? it looks the same bu wasn't sure if theres a slight angle in it and the "Impact" should be facing up vs the "6MM"

I already own 2 impact brakes. Just wondering if there’s a “right” way to install it or not. There doesn’t appear to be any angle on them.

I have two Impact brakes and the ports are not angled up or down so as long as the brake is level to the rifle your fine.

I don't think it matters much one way versus another, besides ensuring the same each time.
Almost like a barrel tuner type effect.

It doesn't matter, but why wouldn't you just mount it with the clamp screw head up?

Because that would involve unscrewing the brake more depending on the barrel shoulder

Gotcha, being a longtime aircraft mechanic it's hard to have a bolt head purposely in the head down position lol.

This is correct. I have one gun with 6mm up and another with Impact up. Both ways is perfectly fine. Just screw in and back out enough to level and tighten set screw.
