Hey all,

I have not seen a posting on this ever and am wondering how everyone else does this, or if they do.

Like many others I have different loads for the same rifle. There are many reasons for this such as, distance desired or availability of components. The question is, how do you keep track of your different loads POA/POI change from any other?

For example my current 168 load is 4 min lower @ 100 than one of my 175 loads, while another 175 load is 1.5 Min higher than the other 175. See the confusion? And thats only at 100; what if I want first round hits at 500? Way more important here….

The only thing I can think is to keep my Zero stop where it is and mark the initial starting point for 100 zero on a laminated card and list the drops out to wherever… Make these for whatever loads I confirm are good and reuse them? Any other thoughts? Thanks

This is going to take some work, there's no two ways about that. Here's how I would go about it. First I'd designate one of the loads as my "primary." That is the one for which my rifle would always be zeroed. You will then have to determine the trajectory and associated sight adjustments (come-ups) for your primary load out to whatever distance you wish to establish as your maximum range. Next you will have to fire your alternate loads and determine the deviation in trajectory between each of those and your primary load. Now you'll need to calculate the proper sight adjustments for each of your alternate loads out to your previously established maximum range. Last, you'll need to record all of this data and reduce it to a format you can use in the field.

Hope this helps.
