You make the assumption that increasing labor costs through deportation is the only effect Trump will have on the economy. Sure, hiring Americans is more expensive, but what if that also comes with much cheaper energy costs? And fewer onerous and excessive regulations? And fewer Chinese scam products and less stolen IP? Labor is not the only driver of costs. And yet, if you execute such an "all-of-the-above" approach, you end somewhere with more American's working at higher wages with average costs being similar or lower than now. Not to mention expanded opportunities for innovation and investment.

The Nuremberg trials and the Japan trials were about sending a message that this can never happen again.
But was carefully orchestrated to make sure that it could not be executed or perceived as revenge. It was a message to the world that we can't ever endure this again. Especially in an atomic age.
Look at the documents/books on the trials. The Soviets wanted to execute 50,000 Germans (or something like that) just out of hand. Churchill wanted revenge. Americans took a view that one could not be seen as a global leader if you acted just as the Nazi's and the Soviets did. That the whole thing had to be about justice and fair trials.
In fact, several of the high-ranking Nazi defendants were found not guilty. Others were sent to the gallows.
We are not about Revenge. We are a Constitutional Republic where the minority (and the criminals) are protected and given due process. We exercised incredible restraint at the end of WW2 when we could have gone Medieval on their Buttocks.
I want justice. That can include ropes, needles and riding the lightning. But it has to be done properly. Not like some Kangaroo J6 committee. This is what we need to oppose with every fiber of our beings. Because it can work both ways.
We have a system that can punish these scum. And punish them publically and with great gusto. But they have to be found guilty through real due process.
Personally, I'd have no problem putting a bullet in the heads of most of these folks sans due process. But that is NOT what America is about. At the point we start completely disregarding the law, then I think it's fair to say we're in a complete state of anarchy. The real answer is to prosecute, quickly, sentence quickly and tighten up the damn laws and make new ones like an Amendment for a balance budget and term limits. In my mind, these prosecutions and sentencing should be finished by this time next year.
