A friend just got a Vudoo barreled action. He had some feeding problems, until talking to Vudoo, and adjusting the mag catch, ok now.
One thing about the videos. he could have just set the barrel back a turn or two, to get the headspace correct.

Yup most feeding issues are mag height issues with chassis. Usually pretty easy fix.
As to the video, I highly doubt Vudoo sent a rifle out that wasn’t headspace properly.
I love my vudoo and I would never tell anyone not to by one..I saw so many issues this weekend at the shoot with Vudoo's I questioned that a little.. I was glad I had a Gen2 and not a 360..Feeding issues galore, I saw one that the bolt catch broke on, and it messed up his receiver..the kicker is he just got back from sending it in to stop it from shaving lead off the bullets when loading a round..I know if I was spending 3k on a gun, I would only trust my money with Vudoo because they stand behind their products 100 Percent, every interaction I have had with MB has been great, awesome dude! but something is going on there..I am sure they will figure it out. I will say none of the gen1's had issues..
There were a bad batch of 360 mag catches and they are getting replaced. Were you at NVGC? Also the early 360 did have an issue with feeding which Vudoo fixed in line during production and none of the new ones have it.
The shaving lead sounds like a mag height issue. Saw one on facebook. I think it was the same guy.
Yes I was!! Do you know how many times Derricks gun was sent back to be fixed? I only mentioned one in my post above to be nice..Jonathon did fix the vudoo enough to get him thru the match but the receiver is still damaged and must be fixed is what I was told. Like I said, I am a Vudoo Fan and I hope they fix the issues..If you buy a complete gun, and wait that long, it should work..If you get a BA and try to put it together I don't see how that can be Vudoo's fault..Derrick's gun was a complete gun from Vudoo.
Lmao these issues should have never even existed. If the r&d was done properly and testing was done properly none of this should be a issue with a 3k$+ gun. Then on top of that it can only shoot one type of ammo lmao come on guys seriously... I don't know why it keeps happening but I see the same thing over and over gain wrong with these things. What happened to the single shot version? Where are they? Who's shooting them in what matches? They can't seem to get a handle on things in my opinion
I thought all the videos were informative. Maby not so much to an experienced gunsmith but certainly to the average Vudoo owner. I don't believe Vudoo has had a FTF issue with their repeaters. From the beginning the repeaters came with 12oclock ignition and chisel tip firing pins. This has not changed. It works! They have had feeding issues. Their magazines will remlock in a heartbeat and don't like flat nose Eley. Many Vudoo owners think this is due to the chamber design when in reality it is the angle of the feed ramp which is part of the magazine. This feed ramp issue may have already been corrected since I purchased my 360. I could single shot load Eley and it would fire . Just would not feed from the Mags. I believe the Vudoo single shot actions did have FTF issues from the get go. Originally they were offered with 6oclock ignition and a crescent firing pin. I don't believe Vudoo was ever able to achieve consistent ignition with this pin shape no matter what spring rate they used as it has now been replaced with the chisel tip pin.
Man lots of hate going on in this thread. I would be interested in someone who can point me to a rimfire repeater that hasn't had some sort of feeding or firing issues. I have owned and put a shit load of rounds through most of the high end bolt action rimfire repeater rifles made: CZ 452 & 457 (not that I think they are all that high end), Anschutz 54.18 MS-R (both generations), Anschutz 1827B, Sako Finfire Range (P94s), Sauer 200TR with the 22lr conversion, Stiller 2500XR, Zermatt RimX, and all generations of the V-22 (I think I'm up to 5 or 6 now, currently a 360), I'm sure I have forgotten some. But the point is they all have their issues, some minor others very major. Of all the ones I have personally owned only the Vudoo and the Sauer were completely reliable from day 1. I'm not saying that every V-22 is perfect but for the 5 or 6 I have personally owned and including the one my brother and one my father own for a total of 7-8 (that I have put a lot of rounds through also) I can honestly report 0 malfunctions of any kind.
But like everyone else who has posted in this thread I am just one person with my own opinions. But I can tell you there is a reason that the only precision rimfire bolt action repeater currently in my safe is a V-22 360...

Not all the repeaters have a chisel tip firing pin. I had one with the curved tip and it was perfectly fine with Lapua, SK, RWS, & Eley. All of my Vudoos have cycled, fired, & ejected all quality ammo to include the EPS bullet Eley Match and Tenex. But again sample rate of just a few rifles.
I wish i could see a video of one feeding from a mag or at least a pic showing the relationship of the bullet to the chamber. I cant get any answers from vudoo CS on pillar height and i know mine should feed smoother than it does. Im using vudoo bottom metal and both plastic and metal mags are the same
Thats interesting. Is your gun an older or a new build.? When you say curved do you mean crescent or some other shape? My 360 is one year old. It came with 4 Vudoo mags. Not one will feed flat nose Eley. They Jam on the feed ramp before they ever reach the chamber. There is a fix which is simply changing the angle of the feed ramp. Have not tried it yet!
That one was a V-22 Gen 2 (90⁰ bolt). I think I may have a pic of it somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.
What stock / chassis is yours in?
There's a Youtube video from about 4 years ago that kind of shows it.
They also have one on feeding issues.
Keep in mind, this is the same individual who says you should have basically zero headspace with fired brass and “use the bolt’s primary extraction to finish sizing the brass.”

Yes, when not properly loaded. It has only happened to mine one time, and that was a mag my son in law loaded...even though I thought I told him how to do it correctly. I have put over 1k rounds through my Three-60, it has had three malfunctions to eject, also when my son in law was running it. Maybe the problems are more "operator error" than "equipment malfunction". I've only put Sk rifle match and pistol match though mine so far, never owned a round of Eley or RWS to date.
Mine has no issues with Lapua, SK, or RWS. After I clean the bolt, if I have light striking, I just turn the firing pin out a turn or two till it strikes correctly. Every time it works with Lapua or SK it will also work with RWS. Eley though takes a little more. I actually don't care for Eley because I have never had a gun it shot best in. I dont doubt they make good ammo just hasn't worked out for me. If the Firing pin is set to fire SK ect, it will fail to fire 1-2 times per 20 rounds of Eley in my experience. I believe if I turn the firing pin out a little more it would work just fine.
Don't take this reply the wrong way as I'm not trying to be a smart ass and I'm certainly not an expert but I don't believe you understand Vudoo ignition. It is basically Remington 40X . Chisel tip pin striking the case at 12 oclock. I don't know exactly what you're doing but you can't rotate the firing pin from this position or change the depth of the pin strike by screwing it in or out. It seams to me that you actually do have FTF issues.
Vudoo's firing pin has a captured shoulder that doesn't allow for the firing pin to hit the breach face. It is adjustable. A few of my friend's had to turn it one to two times to stop it from having light strikes on their Vudoos.
I could see turning it a few times to get Eley ammo to consistently strike hard enough.
When I first got my Vudoo I sent it back for light strikes. I was using Eley Black and Tenex. Fast forward a few years and I had the same issue. Last week FTF and failure to extract. No issues with Lapua. Sucks I have a ton of Eley I thought it was solved.
I've struggled with posting in this thread. Obviously, I've been away for a while and for various reasons. Mostly, to step away and get back to what I truly enjoy. I've spent a lot of years working on what became Vudoo Gun Works and I've met all types of people along the way. Fortunately, the greater percentage of them have been incredible. To name a few; Jesse Bell, Hoser, Victor, Dennis S, Ivan, Jaime, Rob, Tony G, and the list goes on....its vast. And the most honoring part of these relationships is many of these guys stuck with me through thick and thin. But of course, not everyone can be incredible and that's where this "balance" thing in life has to come in and screw everything up.
As I've put thought into what I might say here after being gone so long, my first area of wonderment has been, "why did Tony Harper feel the need to fuel something that had the propensity to be so vile?" Not only did he do it here, he did it elsewhere. Maybe a true indication of character (the very bottom of the character barrel being Turboshooter, Sam Wells)? But then I thought about feeding the right wolf....the important side of "balance." The truly important part of this is recognizing the opportunity.
As far as how I feel about the videos, I'll save a little time and paste a post here that I offered up on Rimfire Central on March 22nd:

I've chosen not to respond, to anything, here or elsewhere for quite a long while for various reasons but, I'll offer a single response to what I'm reading in this thread. I'll not run back and forth from forum to forum to get involved in the typical rimfire/benchrest bs or engage in the off-context comments (Lee) where my name has been brought into it.
While I do have reason to be concerned about a few things this guy says, largely, after a long time in this game, he's another Johnny-Come-Lately working to earn his stripes on the back of someone else. There's always another "Johnny" and this guy won't be the last. It's likely I've been regarded as a Johnny, but I've actually designed pistols, rifles, shotguns, etc., with my name on them over the course of many years. Having said that, I'm quite certain I could gather any number of the rifles "Johnny" has "built," lay in the dirt out in the desert with an iPhone and find any number of issues, especially if I were looking to earn my stripes. It's interesting that, of all the internet product designers in the world, many of whom are posting in this thread, there are so few new products in the community....amazing.
Bottom line is, very few, as in, I can count them on one hand, have been successful in properly re-barreling a Vudoo (Ivan, Dennis). All others have consistently done an incredibly laughable and inferior job with very few exceptions. There are a collection of "Johnny" barrels in the shop that prove it and they're kept around as a source of humor. Anyone claiming to "fix" anything has consistently advertised it in a self serving, self aggrandizing way that should be blatantly obvious to anyone with a reasonable IQ. I'm not saying that what ships from St. George is always perfect, because it hasn't been, but the Vudoo track record speaks for itself and it's amazing that this community has been so incredibly prone to eat its young, which has been a source of my months of silence.
This response is likely to strike a number of you as "sharp," but I've been seeing something from a community that's supposed to be different. The ego-filled, arm chair designers and "rifle builders" are in full swing and it's an enormous source of disinterest where I'm concerned. I've been damn near 100% available to you guys seven days a week on my personal cell, email, text, etc., for years, but realized the cost to me has been incredibly high and one-sided. For the time being, and for the first time in forever, I have a new, private number and have peacefully faded-to-black and the prime examples of why are in this thread."
After I posted this, I learned that there may have been some interaction between "Johnny" and Vudoo....don't know, can't confirm it. If so, great, whatever. And if so, it's a prime illustration of what I said above. Another "Johnny" using platforms to provide (mostly) disinformation and out-of-context-conjecture to get what he wants and doing it the easy way, on my back. The sad part is, he was able to lead a lot of you around by the nose, and that's truly disappointing.

Like I stated, I don't know....maybe. If so, his deal isn't with me and there wouldn't be such a deal if he spoke to me about it. I have the wherewithal to challenge what I see, others don't.
