Bushnell 5-30x56 Match Pro ED

The 6-24x50 Match Pro has been a great optic, but some folks were wanting more. With the 5-30x56 Match Pro ED We really tried to pack everything we could into this that people said they wanted.

Major differences:

1. Magnification range - Went way up up to 5-30x.
2. Objective lens - Up to 56mm.
3. The Name Sake - The objective lens is ED Prime glass.
4. Throw lever - Now integrated like ET and has 3 positions for left, right, or neutral positions.
5. Zero Stop - Has it, very reliable and crazy easy/fast to set.
6. Reticle - Now the Deploy MIL 2, it's a floating dot 2/10 grid and it's illuminated with a 6-hour timer so if you forget to turn it off it you won't have a dead battery next time you go to use it
7. Sunshade - Included, 2.5" w/internal threads for accessories mounting *Rev Indicator - I wasn't sure if I was going to like this but I fell in love with it over the last few months. On first revolution the indicator is flush. On the second revolution it's popped up and shows red. On the 3rd revolution it shows silver below it. The red is actually an anodized red aluminum cap that's been placed on top of a stainless steel pin. We did that for visual as well as longevity so it won't wear over time.
8. Locking turrets all around like last time, but bigger and very nice clicks with a positive grip, way easier to get hold of and turn than the original Match Pro.
9. Parallax = 15 yards
10. Elevation travel = 30 MIL
11. Price: $699.99 (MAP)

Bar was set very high on reliability, tracking and other things on the original Match Pro. We had to go above it. We tried a lot of places, and the one that raised the bar was a facility in China. We just couldn't get the level of performance out of it this price otherwise.

It was complete crap when I went to use it. So were the 4 replacements they sent me. And this scope had a MSRP double what this one is.

If you guys would just bring back the LRTSi line that was Japanese made I think that would get more guys actually excited. Many people have been asking for that for years.

I will look at this scope when I can find one but I won't go out of my way to pick up a Chinese product.

I'd rather pay 1000 for an entry level Japanese made optic than 1000 for a high end Chinese made one.
I was pleased with that Midas HMR though. It did everything I asked of it and had really decent glass.

That’s a lot of features for the price point. I have been looking at scopes for awhile trying to find all these features but not spending a fortune. I was really looking hard at the DMR III and the Athlon Chronos BTR. The DMR was perfect but I felt it lacked magnification a little. Always been a Vortex guys but I’m glad Bushnell has been steadily improving quality and coming out with good stuff, we had two Vortex crap out recently. Bushnell has definitely grabbed my attention after a full season with the match pro. Price point and features this one should be a home run if it is as good as my current edition.

What the scopes sell for from the manufacture and what they pay to the chicom OEM are not the same. There is no industry standard markup. It's based around perceived value. So you don't know if the 350 and 700 scope actually cost the same, similar, ect. And that doesn't even touch on actual quality.

On the first day Bushnell made the LRTS in Japan, and the Hide saw that it was very good.

But the ChiCom serpent came and tempted Bushnell with the fruit from the tree of industrial espionage called OEM.

And Bushnell beheld the fruit, and saw that it was pleasing to the eye, and good for increasing market share and making profit, and Bushnell took of the fruit, and ate it.

And thus Bushnell fell from the righteous path of the LRTS and transgressed into the way of the Match Pro.


But seriously Bushnell, I still tell guys to this day who are looking for a scope to hunt down one of your LRTS scopes because they were so damn good. If you made optics like that still I would buy nothing else.

I get that you are trying to develop new product. You are also probably trying to increase profit because inflation is hitting hard goods mfg like you hard, I get that.

But for guys like me there really isn't much non ChiCom glass out there in the 900 to 1500 dollar market space and I would happily pay the bit extra to get non communist optics.

I know the goal of this scope is to play to a price point, but it seems that is all anyone does these days unless you want to drop 3.5K on a ZCO.

Can you guys please make an optic that delivers good workmanship from somewhere that doesn't hate us? One that has a good, basic feature set without crazy mag ranges for a decent mid range price?

I will be an easy sell for something like that. All my serious use rifles have your LRTS scopes on them.

Prices were adjusted on VIP during the peak of the Covid supply chain issues. About a year ago they were dropped way back down. No, there's no set discount amount, so don't ask. Some things get a better discount than other things. Most things went below what they were before the Covid issues though.

The biggest things we, or at least I, love about the LRTS/LRHS are the rock solid tracking, zero retention even after getting knocked around, illumination, and relatively low weight. The glass was good, but for me that takes a lower priority than other aspects of what made the LRTS great.

If you guys make a 30mm tube, 3-15/3-18/4-20, with illumination, sub 30 oz, in the elite line (which is accompanied by the confidence in the product that the elites have earned). I know that I and many others would be all over it. In fact I was getting ready to sell my current LRTS to a buddy because I was hoping that this new release was bringing back something comparable but better.
Oh well. Maybe next time.

This looks like a good replacement for the Crimson Trace 5-25x56 on my T1x. It's pretty much the same size, but has a tree reticle, zero stop, more elevation travel and the elevation rev indicator.

At the time it was considered heavy but by todays standards the LRHS/LRTS is an ultralight, especially the 3-12 version.

Got mine, here it is next to the Arken EP5. I like the reticle of the Bushy better, along with locking turrets. The turrets are nice but they don’t have near the feel of the Arken. Everything else on the Bushy is better though IMO. Haven’t compared the glass side by side yet, but I have it mounted on my 457 VPT and hope to stretch its legs this weekend. With the OnX discount it’s a no-brainer though at full price I’m not sure I’d make the leap.

I personally like the new turrets better than my Vortex viper pst G1 and my original match pro’s. Those all felt really positive and kind of jumping when running for a match on the fly adjusting elevation. I tried a Athlon Chronos G2 and it also felt the same. The new Bushnell very smooth and positive but not overly positive like the others. I know some like the really loud click but I don’t. I haven’t mounted this scope or did a tracking test. I have high hopes for this scope because it has everything feature wise on my list except being made in Japan or America. Once I get my Vudoo I plan on testing it fully.

The Match Pro ED isn't mushy, but the Arken is more positive. The Arken honestly has the best (subjectively) feeling turrets I've ever felt, and I've fondled most scopes out there. Each click is a firm snap. In the feel department the Match Pro ED is better than the Strike Eagle and Venom, and is more in line with the Bushnell LRTS/LRHS imo.
