The Quad is a great shooter and very accurate. Will bring it out next time we shoot w/ Zunrj.</div></div>

Now thats thinking with your dip stick, shooter

Re: Introducing the Whiskey-3 Chassis!

Well bad news guys, the AI .223 mags won't work as is. The feedlips are too thick to go up into the T3 action. I'm going to try to mod the mag a bit to see if it will work but it's a loaner mag so I have to get permission.

The action does fit in the stock just fine, the one I put in is a Scout .223 heavy barrel. There are some other alternatives for mags, but the AI should work with just minor material removal.

Also, to the gentleman who commented about the lack of texture panel on the left grip. That one was a prototype grip panel so there was no texture, the production item will be textured. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: Introducing the Whiskey-3 Chassis!

So for now as long as we use the factory mags the T3 varmint or tactical models in .223 it will work. The AI mags would be nice so keep us posted if you come up with a mag mod.

I suspect the chassis is setup for AI mags only. You can use the polymer AI mags, but they require altering the feed lips a bit or having someone open up the bottom of the action a bit more.

Re: Introducing the Whiskey-3 Chassis!

Exactly, the chassis is set up for AICS mags. The catch for the Tikka mags is on the front. But all is not lost, I'll be experimenting tonight or tomorrow on getting the AI .223 mags to work. It should just be a matter of thinning out the feedlips a bit. They're super thick so it shouldn't affect the mags much.

Re: Introducing the Whiskey-3 Chassis!

Well gents it looks like with some mods to the feedlips the .223 AICS mags will work. There is a tiny amount of bolt rub still which I probably could have gotten rid of but I wanted to cut as little as possible of the mag.

ETA on the stocks for the Tikka is shortly. No ETA on the Rem version, hopefully by summer, but it's hard to say, the TRG folder is next up probably. Thanks,
Justin

Screw those TRG owners, we want SA700! Can I get first on the list?

Re: Introducing the Whiskey-3 Chassis!

Not at this time. Since the 595 is a flat bottom action, it requires a different inlet than the T3. It could be something we do in the future. In the meantime, you can still get ahold of Master Sporter stocks for the 595.

Excellent. Here comes my next project - 243 drop in then re-barreled to 260 when 243 is shot out

I emailed him about 2 weeks ago and was told that the they are unsure of availability of the master sporter stock since they have not received new shipments in a while.

Re: Introducing the Whiskey-3 Chassis!

Gene, we sent you an email.

Marc_Andre, we'll be posting some pics of the TRG folder here shortly, it's in testing now with some tweaks to the latch.

Event, I'll have to get that for you tomorrow night or Friday, the rifle/stock is out being showed off.

Thanks,
Justin

Re: Introducing the Whiskey-3 Chassis!

Gents,
The first stocks have shipped! Thanks to all those who ordered for your business!

Next, for the TRG fans...enjoy!:

Re: Introducing the Whiskey-3 Chassis!

To the gentlemen who asked about the weight of the rifle in the picture, with 10rd mag, bipod, optic, and flash hider, the weight is 13lb 1oz. The barrel is a straight .880" contour that I did here at the shop, 18" long. Sorry it took so long.

Also to clarify the above TRG pic, that is a stock TRG but it has our folding back end on it. We don't have a full TRG stock.

Re: Introducing the Whiskey-3 Chassis!

BMT,
Is is available lefty on request. You might be able to see from the pics that the left grip also has a relief notch for the bolt handle. We just need to make a couple cuts to the chassis, then you end up with an ambi-action chassis, if that makes sense, haha.

Re: Introducing the Whiskey-3 Chassis!

International customers: You may be able to get a Whiskey-3 by fall!

Also, it looks like we will start carrying the metal bolt shrouds from Hinterland Shooter Supply in Australia as well as adapting the single piece scope mount from Spuhr (made for TRG) to fit the T3 (in both 30mm and 34mm).

Nice one!

Re: Introducing the Whiskey-3 Chassis!

Any idea what cost you may be looking at for a folding version of the T3 stock. I really like the chassis but I want a folding version. Also, any idea on the ETA for the folding W3C?

Finally is there any additional modification required to allow the T3 in your chassis to work with the AICS mags, or can you just drop it in and be good to go?

Sorry, I thought you were going by the above post. I wasn't trying to be an ass.

I will be running this thing through its paces at the Cup. If anyone is attending, feel free to come up and look at it. I will also be sharing my thoughts on it afterward.

Re: Introducing the Whiskey-3 Chassis!

DeSnifter,
The cost on the folding Whiskey-3 for all versions (T3, TRG-S, etc) has not been set but will be between 1k-1300. We're still in the testing phase so the design hasn't been finalized enough for us to get a better idea. The Whiskey-3 is designed to use AICS mags out of the box. The TRG-S version will be able to use either CIP length or regular length 338 AICS mags, as it stands right now.

mnshortdraw, well why don't you purvey us some fine wild meats and we'll see what we can do, haha! Testing is going well on the 700SA, I'm hoping to shoot it at Raton this weekend. No ETA on production yet, we're hoping for summer barring anything crazy.

And good luck to Mike at the Cup. He'll have an earlier folder prototype that has been retrofitted with some updates.

no worries, I wish I could make it, I like everyone else cant wait to get the stock

Re: Introducing the Whiskey-3 Chassis!

I know it's a long shot since Savage can't pick a action platform and stick with it.. but do you forsee one/two for the Savage guys?

Re: Introducing the Whiskey-3 Chassis!

RE the FN SPR, I'm not real sure on that one. I do generally like that Win 70 action, but there's a lot to consider. On the other hand, the new Eberlestock stock will handle an FN.

RE the Savage, again that's hard to say. I can't rule it out but we've got a pretty full slate for this year which includes:
T3 reg and magnum
700 SA and LA
995/TRG-S/TRG-42
M2008 SA and LA
Quad if possible
couple others

Hi Justin,

I am interested in the chassis for Howa short action. Please let me know if you plan to offer it.

Thanks,
