You keep saying Colt is better, but you never said why...
You say more reliable, but in what way, under what circumstances? What data are you referencing to back that up?
Which parts exactly in a Colt, break less than any other quality made brand an why?
You say more accurate, but exactly how are you defining that?
Are there NO other brands that match the accuracy of a Colt at ANY distance, with ANY ammo?
Do those shooting teams you speak of use NOTHING but Colt?
Do they shoot them as received from the factory, or are they modified in certain ways?
The acceptance standard for the military is 4moa. If these are so accurate, why is the standard so low?
Colt is better for a variety of reasons:
It has a long proven history asserting the quality, reliability, durability as a combat rifle.
It routinely has beaten out the competition when tested through various military trials or LE procurement for MRBF.
They have stood up to the test of time going back to the early days of Shooting Schools and Trainers. ABC was a thing for a reason and Colt was always considered the best rifle to have at the time, and even up today, is something that will survive the abuse and high vollume shooting of both instiutions and private users who train alot. Ask the various trainers what they see go down and what runs like a top. A guy that sees 10-20 shooters a week, shooting 500-2000 rounds in each course, week in and week out is going to see more rounds put down range than just about anyone. Couple their most likely background in Special Opperations firearms expereince and they may be worth listending to. Some will be very candid and some will be reserved becuase that industry is based around money and reputation. You might be suprised how different they act on camera and offline in a class. Night and Day. But since you already have all this training you know right?
A Colt barrel is going to be more accurate than most the cheaper price range CL barrels due to their manufacturing process and chrome lining which is one of the best. FN probably has them beat, but since you can't buy a commercial FN rifle using the TDP, you are stuck with cucked commercial guns. FN sells its barrels on the secondary market and through resellers, but you aren't getting a real FN gun or upper unless through grey surplus channels. BCM, DD, KAC, LMT, FN and HK makes just as good if not a better M16/M4 type barrel but you will pay for it. BCM has a real winner with their ELW line, reducing wasted mass while keeping the meat where it needs to be.
You are being obtuse and no one EVER said there aren't more accurate barrels. Its a combat rifle, which uses issue M193/M855, with a non match trigger and either iron sights or a low power Acog/Aimpoint. The point is you can take a ragged out M16, run inaccurate issue ammo through it, and STILL shoot expert in both the Marine Corps and Army's Rifle qualification using iron sights. Many President's 100 shooters earned their tab using those same factory barrels over the years.
Bolts, mag catches, extractors, and various small Fire control parts are the most common breakages. Colt BCG and Fire control parts always sold for a massive premium because builders desire them. If you can't buy a factory gun, or want to build something you can't buy, using proven parts where you can is what you do. If you have never broken a Bolt before, then IMO you are not qualified to even speak on the subject. It shows a complete lack of experience. Its like a virgin trying to school people on how to fuck.
No one ever claimed colt was the exclusive supplier of High power. Again, you are making shit up.
The vast majority of people are incapable of taking a M16, issue ammo and outshouting the mechanical accuracy of that combination. The whole fucking point of the post is an ignorant poster claiming inaccuracy when there is a very very high probability the gun is not the issue. The fact those same guns have been used to win Camp Perry proves it. How fucking accurate does it need to be when you can put lead into ass at 600 yards if need be.
The Hilarity is the Marine Corp's pushed for the M16A2 because it had all the features of a match rifle, which is not what you want in a combat rifle. It weighted more and was more complicated that it should have been to make it more accurate and easier to shoot at long range.
Can you name other comparable service rifles that can do it better? I will wait.
Is Colt the greatest shit ever made? Hell no. I can name a few products that are both improved from a technological, process and metallurgical standpoint while being PROVEN, but they are all significantly more expensive. There is a reason good shit is expensive. You are paying for that R&D and confidence level.
You post is a classic example of you just taking the snippets of my post you want and ignoring the whole post to fit your agenda. Context is everything, we don't pick and choose what pieces to fit a narrative. Throw in completely making up statements out of thin air and this is you. CNN would be proud.
