Is something going on in Ukraine?

From RT. But it does help explain why our weapons and eventually service members will be called into this. The UK and the NATO are not ready for anything near what appears to be coming.

If the US wasn’t putting assets into this it would be over by now because it appears no one else is ready for anything. But they do talk big as long as the US taxpayers are paying for it all.

UK, Germany... all of NATO except pretty much France & Turkiye are much the same in terms of not having maintained their military readiness in terms of both equipment and troops/training. My understanding is that US, Turkiye and France are operationally ready for war. The rest, not so much.

Turkiye may even end up siding with Russia to a great degree when push comes to shove.

Actually in all honesty

Schwab has a 4.5% triple tax free muni fund that is money market so you can get it in a day if needed

You should take a look at it. It’s like making 6-7% depending on your tax bracket

I just moved some money last Wednesday

If people care about grammar on a irrelevant Internet forum debating a topic which we have no solid information about…they need to get out more

I guess you didn’t read past the first line, or you get your information from memes…but I expect nothing less from such a scholar.

The top few percent don’t fit their conclusion.

I guess I’m a 1%’r in more than one category

Thanks, my head got a little bigger

Yeah, I do have a ton of skin in the game, since my family is from Finland. I have multiple family members who were killed due to Russian aggression in 1939 that never got to experience the rest of their lives.

So I openly admit my bias against Russia, who has been invading every neighboring region for the past 1000 years and murdering, committing genocide, stealing, and ruining the lives of untold millions of people for the sake of imperialism.

Russia wasn’t baited into anything. This was always Putin’s plan since the 2000s, according to actual Russian Foreign Ministry employees who knew it then.

What’s your bias? Your list is doesn’t make the least bit of sense.

The US did not cause Russia to invade Ukraine. It was always Russia’s plan to re-take not only Ukraine, but all of the buffer states it has done that are in territories where Russia took and lost over many centuries.

It is nothing but pure Russian propaganda that the US and NATO had something to do with them invading Ukraine.

There are co-opted and corrupt US politicians who were making a killing pilfering Ukraine along with Putin, yes. Biden is at the top of that list, since Biden has been on the Soviet/Russian payroll since 1972.

Biden has always acted as a Russian asset in his political career.

Same with Obama. Obama is a product of a Manchurian candidate program to serve Russia’s interests.

Obama came in on the tail end of Nunn-Lugar to do what? Disarm Ukraine of as many mortar and artillery rounds as possible. Nunn-Lugar was focused on nukes and WMDs, not artillery. Obama worked towards Ukrainian disarmament in preparation of the planned Russian invasion. This was in 2005, 3 years before his “election”:

A lot of you guys have many years of research ahead of you before you should post on this subject. If you continue to post on something you aren’t informed on, it reinforces complete ignorance about what is going on.

The main pillar you still haven’t grasped is how thoroughly the Soviets penetrated and co-opted various factions of US Government, and continued to wage that type of war within the US. This is a very Eastern, ancient practice that dates back prominently in Russian-Mongolian history. It’s in their DNA.

The Russians were already tapping our diplomatic cables in the Czarist times, while we did nothing to encrypt or encode that traffic. They went very aggressive with mass penetration and exploitation operations directed against the White House, War Department, State, Congress, FBI, and later DoD, CIA, NSA, the media, and universities.

Using Council for a Livable World, Democracy Now, CPUSA, unions, organized crime, PACs, and various fronts, they have placed no less than 420 Congressmen, Senators, Governors, and Presidents into office. It’s still a struggle because other nations bribe and blackmail the same people, and our system of checks and balances still plays some role in making it hard for any one group to take over the system.

It is far more complex than looking for one bogeyman, since there are plenty vying to use the US’s power to do their bidding.

The US is still in the infancy stages of even figuring out how the world works, and not showing many signs of wising up.

The Soviets had a formal, comprehensive, and very active International propaganda press apparatus called International Organization of Journalists (IOJ) set up in Prague, but controlled from Lubyanka (historic secret police and intelligence HQ including KGB and now SVR).

When the US formed the CIA out of the OSS after WWII, they recognized that the Soviets were winning the ideological warfare war, so they formed a counter to this headed by Frank Wisner called Operation Mockingbird.

Before the CIA was even formed, the Soviet NKVD and diplomatic staff had at least 200 assets who became CIA officers and assets, as well as assets inside the new West German BND. Those assets reported immediately back to Lubyanka that the silly Yankees were just trying figure out information warfare with Mockingbird, and laughed at how much fun they were going to have with it by gloving it from within.

Now you know why Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, Peter Jennings, Geraldo Rivera, and Anderson Cooper reported the way they did, along with CBS, NBC, Time Magazine, and later CNN, MSNBC, etc.

The Soviets took over Mockingbird from within under cover of their assets within the CIA. The way it was supposed to work was that CIA would feed or steer journalists and editors with pro-US propaganda. The Soviets instead fed yellow journalism and thinly-veiled anti-US stories to the media. This became very effective during Vietnam with Cronkite’s broadcasts, where he made it seem like a total loss after we vanquished the Vietnamese militias and most of the NVA in Tet of 1968.

The Soviets made it popular and trendy for American journalists to attack the US from within, making it seem like the patriotic thing to do. This is part of the demoralization strategy of Active Measures.

Most of the posts in this thread are thoroughly embracing this without even realizing it, because they don’t know the nature of the game, who the players are, and where they are located. On top of that, they don’t know even a fraction of the geography and history of the regions, let alone US history and geography, why things are the way they are in the pre and post-WWII US.

In WWII, the Soviets had the best on-the-ground spy service while the Brits had the best 'electronic' spy service based on the breaking of the NAZI enigma (thanks to Polish mathematicians breaking enigma in the 1920's) but their on-the-ground spy network was compromised by the Philby ring. The US navy won the war the Pacific by breaking the Japanese naval codes that allowed the subs to strangle Japan. During the Cold War, the Soviets probably continued their spying by funding leftist western organizations. Now I suspect the Chinese are using US government and elites woke dupes to spy on all aspects of US tech. Today the only competent 'western' spy network is run by the Israelis

(Biden was put into the US Senate by the Russians in 1972. Look at his travel history and voting record from 1973-forward.)

Biden was supposed to extricate Zelensky within 48hr of Russia invading last year, so the path to Kiev would be smooth.

Remember? Who does that benefit if Zelensky had been pulled out of Ukraine?

That was part of a plan, not an accident.

Had Zelensky been removed, the door to Kiev would have been open, with no national figure to rally the nation or negotiate arms shipments into Ukraine. When Zelensky refused to leave, saying he needs bullets, not a ride, it ruined the Putin-Biden WH plan for Ukraine.

This is why Putin called it a Special Military Operation, because he would have had Kiev within 72hr with Zelensky gone. The rest of the world would have stood by watching helplessly, and his clout would have elevated substantially, albeit with a resistance network to fight indefinitely in Ukraine (with no central leadership).

Hunter was placed in Burisma after Ukrainians threw out Putin’s puppet President Yanukovych in March, 2014.

Hunter was placed on Burisma’s board in May, 2014. This was an insurance policy for Putin because it put a blockade in place from further investigation into Burisma (Putin was pilfering funds from Ukraine through Burisma, which is why Ukraine’s prosecutor was investigating it.)

Then VP Biden told the new Ukrainian President, Petro Poroshenko, he wasn’t getting a billion in US aid money unless he fired Viktor Shokin, who was investigating Putin’s theft of Ukrainian revenue through Burisma.

Putin secured his compromise of the Bidens even further by tying Hunter up with the former First Lady of Moscow’s prostitution and human trafficking business.

Putin also built this insurance policy into his corruption and bribery of the Clintons with the Uranium One deal, where he used Uranium from US and Canadian mines to revitalize the Russian nuclear forces.

The real story of what has been going on here is so monumentally-devastating, that it would shake the halls of DC and bring a ton of people under treason and espionage charges, if we had any semblance of enforcement in that space, which we haven’t.

Yup. Czars and then Soviets had the best SIGINT, by tapping the diplomatic cables.

Russians have always relied heavily on HUMINT and extensive penetration operations where they go for the head, then all the downstream entities and don’t trust the data until they have multiple sources to weed out any counterintelligence efforts.

They had the Brits heavily-compromised before WWII even broke out, and the US relied on the Brits to stand up our OSS.

US Office of Naval Intelligence was the only intact intel service that had experience, so there was always a lot of distrust between ONI and CIA when Langley was finally stood-up in 1947.

JFK was ONI, but was sleeping with far too many honey pots in the DC area, and was threatening his older brother’s path to the WH, so Papa Joe had his buddies in the Navy kick down orders for the the young officer to be sent as far away from the flagpole as possible, PCS’ing him to a Patrol Boat Squadron in Panama. That unit later deployed to the Pacific and the rest is history. (PT-109)

During the Cold War, the Soviets turned up the heat like at no time in history when it comes to offensive intelligence operations. They hated the fact that we blocked them from taking over the entire European Peninsula in the wake of the destruction of what was left of the Wehrmacht. The existence of the US is an existential threat to the Russians and Chinese, because every day we prove that a government "led by the people” can thrive, it threatens the millennia of dictatorships and authoritarian rule that is the norm for them.

They don’t ever want their people to see how things actually work in the US, which is why they have fed a steady diet of anti-US propaganda depicting bums in the parks eating birds and drinking ditchwater coffee.

His Foreign Ministry people said the plan was to take all former Russian territories back they had lost, including the nations that existed under the USSR. They were bragging openly about it, and had to be shut up.

Putin even considered joining NATO so he could attack other NATO counties without Article 5 being invoked, but because you have to ask to join NATO, it was beneath him and would show weakness to Russians that he had to request permission to join and then wait in line behind tiny little countries that don’t matter. He told the NATO General Secretary at the time that a nation as great and large as Russia should just be asked to join.

Putin is doing what Russian authoritarians have done for the past 1000 years, which is to expand the empire when they have a chance to do so, then it weakens due to trying to maintain security in the outer regions, collapses, and repeats the cycle. This has been true whether it was Czars, Soviets, or Oligarchs.

My God, have you been to the US lately?

This is pure fantasy.

Two tiered justice system, political militias destroying our cities and govt sowing discord to ensure there will be no E Pluribus Unum.

Fuck this thread just went to another level.

Oh look. The guy who killed the F-22 program, then moved to the Boy Scouts of America and oversaw the implementation of the gay agenda into BSA.

I know people who worked with Gates on certain DoD and DARPA programs. Anything that showed promise that all the customers (US defense agencies/services) really liked and were working well, he killed. Any programs that were wasteful, stupid, not requested or were failing, he promoted.

Russia and China didn’t want 200 Raptors being permanently stationed near their borders, with another 550 in the States to plus-up forward deployed operational squadrons in PACOM and EUCOM.

We didn’t even get to 200 airframes or multi-year orders, when Gates killed the Raptor. Remember he was SECDEF under both Bush43 and Obama. Multiple USAF Chiefs of Staff fell on their swords and sacrificed their careers to try to save the F-22, but Gates had his marching orders to kill it at all costs.

Who was SECDEF Gates working for? Whose interests was he serving? Definitely not the US.

Remember all the Soviet moles I was talking about?

Uh yeah, I am US-born and raised. Have lived in the US most of my life, but have also been to 30 different nations, lived in 8 different counties before, during, and after active duty service.

You have to step outside of the hyper-focused critique of US domestic policies and corruption when you look at other countries. It’s night and day different. You don’t know how good you have it, even with organized crime having taken over the government during Prohibition and the subsequent consequences that means to this day.

Russians jumped all in that, as many of the biggest Mafia crime bosses were Russian-born jews. Meyer Lansky was literally the head of The National Crime Syndicate, who steered the mob into legitimizing businesses and not engaging in stupid street gang warfare, but instead to buy off politicians, judges, police chiefs, and front companies.

Meyer Lansky (Maier Suchowljansky) was born in the Russian empire on the 4th of July, 1902. He and Bugsy Siegel started one of the first murder-for-hire businesses with the Mafia.

The guy that introduced the Paine family to the Oswalds was also a Russian-born immigrant to the US, and an OSS and CIA asset. He was also friends with Jacqueline Bouvier and family (later Jackie Kennedy). George de Mohrenschildt. He was a prominent figure in the JFK assassination investigation.

This crap has been going for far longer than most are aware of in this thread.

Dis agree that Zelensky was suppose flee. It is my opinion he was installed to rally to fight this.

Ukraine was under Russian political control until 2014… why would they do all of this, just to get back to where they where? It wasnt until after the coup the western backed politicians were put in place. Purging anyone with allegiances to Russia. Which is why Shokin was fired.

Sorry what you suggest does not make a lick of sense, Ukraine was a Russian puppet until the 2014 revolution. But your ablilty to twist the facts to support your story is truly impressive. Hats off to you. Edit- you seem like a pretty sharpe cookie, well versed in the area of deceptive information.

Yeah, the Eastern European countries who have been raped and forcibly removed from their homelands came begging to join the nearest mutual defense pact that would have any chance at providing security for them when Russia resurges.

Russian authoritarians hold that up as an example that all the enemies are surrounding them. Russia psyche is built on threats from all around them at the gates, because they have been invaded by everyone and their brother.

There aren’t any geographic boundaries to protect Russia’s borders, so they use other people’s lands as buffers.

Yes. You are right I haven’t travelled therefore I know nothing of the world.

Because I know of the world and understand how this country was head and shoulders over the rest, and at least the rest of the western world halfway had their shit together, is why I am shocked by your current description of the USA.

Because the entire world is devolving to shit, just because the USA is circling the drain at the crest of the wave, I’m not going to cheer that fact because eventually we will all be in the same place.

Things one would shake their head at in the 80s happening in the world we are now asked to expect as the norm for now, and expect it to get worse in the future.

FDR kissed Stalin's ass and let them take Germany and Austria, to which the Soviets promptly genocided over 1 million ethnic Germanic peoples in the Austria-Hungary area. Not to mention they killed millions everywhere they went.
Churchill was a sellout but he tried to fight to keep the Baltics out of Soviet hands and he was anti Soviet, FDR let them have Europe.
The Soviets plans came crashing down when Truman got into office and didn't take any of their shit.

exactly.

if anyone wants to blame the murderous communists (and yes, they should), they need to also blame FDR for doing for them what FJB is doing now for Ukraine - Oversupplying them and allowing them to carry out an agenda of terror and murder. Our tyrants have a penchant to intervene when they should sit out.

Furthermore, some people in this thread cannot get it through their heads that the Soviet Union ceased to exist in 1991. We are dealing with a different nation with a different government, a smaller economy, smaller population, and a smaller mostly 2nd rate military. But those same people have an agenda of pushing for 900 billion a year in "DEFENSE" spending against this second rate boogeyman who cannot project force in any way that could be conceived as a legitimate threat against the US.

Putin wanted Zelensky out, not to stay. The SMO was supposed to seize Kiev within 72hr.

Ukraine was under puppet president control until 2014, when the Ukrainian people ousted Yanukovych after 4 months of protesting in all the major cities. The reason they did that was because Yanukovych signed onto Putin’s Russia-Eurasian Economic Pact, in direct violation of 79% of the voters who wanted to trade in Euros.

Putin saw the direction things were headed and knew that if Ukraine was to experience economic growth like Poland, Russia’s influence over Ukraine would not only wither, but Ukraine could approach or rival Russia in GDP.

There wasn’t a coup. That’s Russian propaganda. The people literally threw Yanukovych out with massive Euromaiden protests, signaling they didn’t want to be tied economically with Russia anymore.

That’s when Hunter Biden magically showed up on the board of Burisma the next month.

If you have been studying the region since the 1970s, have lived throughout the area, have studied Russian and Soviet order of battle for decades, and especially Russian history, to include their way of dealing with intelligence and political subterfuge, the picture becomes much clearer.

The timeline damns the Russian propaganda though, and exposes not only what’s happening, but corrupt US politicians who have been involved in it much longer than many would have suspected.

Viktor Shokin was fired to protect Putin’s boyar scheme of fleecing Ukraine of its wealth through energy companies and other intermediaries. Shokin was investigating Burisma, whose CEO was living in exile and being hunted by INTERPOL. Obama stepped in to call off the UK investigators from going after Zlochevsky.

Who was Zlochesvsky? One of Yanukovych’s ministers of the environment and ecology.

Burisma CEO Zlochevsky

Review the timeline and connections and it all unfolds before you.

Putin controlled Yanukovych as a regional governor boyar under the historic Russian system.
Yanukovych appointed his own boyars, Zlochevsky being one of them.
Under Zlochevsky’s management of Burisma, billions went missing.

As soon as this scheme under Putin, Yanukovych, and Zlochevsky was upset with Yanukovych’s ousting, Zlochevsky appointed..............Hunter Biden to Burisma’s board of directors.

Zlochevsky also used his son, Oleksandr, as an intermediary for laundering the money. Oleksandr of course lives in Russia.

Putin was making a killing on stealing billions from Ukraine, while preventing Ukraine from comparable economic growth to other nations like Poland. Ukraine has more resources than Poland, and should have at least matched them for GDP growth from 1990-2014, but they didn’t even come close.

What you start to see is a tight web of Russian oligarchs under Putin, compromised US senior officials like Obama and Biden, all working for the benefit of Putin.

I and all the people I know literally despise Romney, so I don’t know what you’re referring to.

It makes absolutely no sense to me. Also, cut the personal attacks. If you don’t have a valid argument that you can articulate, stop posting.

Sub Texas economy and more interested in personal enrichment and the decadence of the oligarchs.

If they ever got their shit together and truly commercialized their resources they would be a powerhouse.

Sadly corruption and secrecy runs deep from having lived a history in extremis.

Right now, up until the Ukraine war, was about as good as it gets for them.

Had “Z Puppet” not been turning the eastern side of the country into some shelled WWI hellscape since 2014 guessing Putin would have been happy with his one Black Sea port.

The US has been in strategic withdrawal from Europe since 1991. We spent a lot of our combined forces combat power in Iraq in 1991, then BRAC’d a lot of those units under George Bush Sr., before that trend continued under Clinton and every subsequent President and Congress.

Suckering us into Afghanistan was a huge strategic gamble that worked for our enemies, and there is a minority report within DIA that establishes China’s hand in that, via Pakistan and the Muslim Brotherhood (of which Al Qaeda is their terrorist arm).

What happened? 20 years of combat resources wasted in Afghanistan and Iraq, with nothing but trillions of dollars wasted, airframes worn out, vehicles deadlined, and the American population utterly disgusted with how Presidents and Congress have spent our people and material. The only exception to that was Trump, who called this out repeatedly.

Another exception with Trump is that he is the only US President who oversaw the decimation of Russian Wagner mercenaries in Syria when they attacked US SOF units over the Euphrates River at the Battle of Khasham in Feb 2018. That’s where they unleashed 6 hours of JDAMs, HIMARS, M777, Hellfires, and other munitions against the Russian and Syrian forces. Every other US President would have left those men out to dry.

I imagine billions of dollars and euros rolling in handouts for nothing , paying wages (for no show jobs) and pensions make people feel like they are on vacation except for the suckers that get sent to the trenches on the front lines.

''
According to the Ukrainian president, now in some cities people think that "they are all on vacation"

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky believes that morale has weakened in the country recently, in a number of cities residents seem to be "on vacation".

"From the very beginning <...> the spirit was stronger," he said on Friday at a press conference following the EU-Ukraine summit, a recording of which was posted on the website of the European Commission.

According to Zelensky, now in some cities of Ukraine people think that "they are all on vacation." "I think this is a weakness," he added, without specifying which cities he was referring to.

The EU-Ukraine summit was held in Kiev on Friday. Besides Zelensky, the President of the European Commission took part in the press conference following the meeting''

You do know that the only reason Finland became possible as a country was thanks to Russia? They used to have monuments to Russians that made it possible. ;)

Also, try searching on how many times Russia has been invaded in the past 1000 years, Russians murdered, stolen from etc by variety of European countries vs Russia invading European countries.

I can guarantee that results will surprise you ;)
