it isn't that simple either, but the fact that the conflicting regions are predominantly ethnic russian and russian speaking for their entire lives, unlike most of the rest of ukraine, lends (to me) and least some credibility to those regions not wanting to live under another corrupt ukrainian regime, especially not after the nazi battalions have been normalized and adopted by the government military.
