Is this unreasonable to ask...

I see that in the name of progress and in order to show due deference to people who simply show-up, announce their presence, and demand respect as if it is something that isn't earned, I will have to impose on myself a voluntary one-week ban.

Great, now I've got one more reason to hate the recent spate of loudmouths with double-digit post counts who show up with an anonymous screen name and start thread-shitting all over the forum with absolutely no attempts at first earning some credibility.

Enjoy the week off, Graham - you've earned it, but the forum will be worse-off in your absence.

LOL, good post. Have a nice week off, old boy.

I will keep-up with what I have in the For Sale section, and with PMs, but outside of that I ban myself from posting for one week from today.

Update:

I see this trend as getting worse. On the 17th this guy starts a thread, and forget for the moment his naïve original question which I didn't criticize at all, he ends up showing himself to be less informed than he claims to be. How does he handle it? By telling me to shove it up my ass and making accusations that he's being 'misinterpreted' while blaming what happened on the people who replied to him.

Today is the 27th, and ten days later he won't stop complaining about me that I know nothing, have no 'actual experience' (whatever that means), and that I have contributed nothing to his thread. Did I contribute nothing: No detailed KSAs? No instructional standards? No explanations of LE training vs. civilian training? No legal definitions? No framework for analysis of instructors? Decide for yourself, here's the thread:

http://www.snipershide.com/shooting...ons-civvies-do-they-really-check-quality.html

But this is the best part: Here's what he sends me today. It must have taken him quite a while to write it and yet he says he's not bothered by me whatsoever. Then using classic hit-and-run tactics he deletes it soon after I read it, probably thinking that I can't retrieve it. And all that work just to call ME the Troll and to keep insisting that his dick is bigger than mine. Here's the PM I got today:

After receiving several PMs from other posters warning me of your excessive need to troll other peoples posts and throw in your own inexperience as a suggestion I now understand why youve posted the way you have. Honestly I thought maybe you were a 14 year old kid taking the piss. I did not stop replying to your B.S. to insult you. I just have no desire to read anymore of it. I realise that you have no actual experience (I gathered that from all your hypotheticals and the fact that you couldnt follow common logic) and that you are on the forum to impress yourself with how much you can insult other people and pretend they are the real idiots. I have no desire to be part of your practise as I have spent a decade and a half with my current regiment utilising more TTPs and real world experience than you as a civilian would ever be able to get hold of. Thats one reason why Im not bothered by you whatsoever. The reason for my writing you now is that I feel sorry for you. Maybe you could take some of the classes from the individuals I listed. then you would KNOW what you are talking about rather than guessing or going out of your way to be stupid and incomprehensive towards individuals who are telling the truth as it exists in reality. I hope you take my advice. the world is full of idiots. Ive no idea what the desire is or why people are drawn to it. but its not appreciated, By myself or others apparently.

He posts in his thread that he is going to stop replying to me, but he doesn't. Then he writes to me to say that he has stopped replying to my BS, but a few minutes later he replies again on the Thread. All the while proclaiming his own credibility.

This is why I love the Internet: Because you simply can't make this stuff up.

I'd post this there, Graham, but I don't want to pour any more wino piss on a spark that shouldn't have been lit in the first place. At any rate, it's all starting to remind me of the punch line of the bear hunter joke.

Graham,

I particularly liked how the participant in that thread lamented the turn that the discussion had taken, and then nearly a full day later comes back into the thread with yet one more swipe at you that added absolutely nothing to the conversation. That was true class.

Graham:

I read through that entire thread the other day - not sure why, all it did was give me a headache............

RG,

You have reached that level of "Frank-ness" where everyone is happy to disagree and attack, while failing to comprehend their own words.

Basically, it fits their experience or at least their basic understanding and follows their opinion, so there is zero questioning it. End of story anything else is just wrong.

Holy Crap these 3 pages have been more fun than a bag of monkeys. We've gone from logic, to opinion, a little growling, almost fighting, back to growling. Pretty good stuff!! I think the most important thing that I got out of this thread was a little "Frank-ness" :)

Cheers

I had to come back and throw a couple more .02's in here and fix my spelling a bit, as my buddy Mr R. Graham might notice. For those of you who don't know Graham and think that he might act like a smart guy, well the fact is that he is a very smart guy whether you like it or not.

And it just so happens that he does know quite a lot about what we do here, and has quite a limited knowledge of the Law (grin)

Not to mention that he's quite the gentlemen and willing to help others. It just so happened that I shot my very first Precision Rifle Match next to Graham quite a few years ago, sort of fumbling around and asking questions. I've never forgotten those who kindly reached out and offered a helping hand all the while trying to shoot a good score themselves. And Mr R Graham just happens to be one of those people.

There are times when listening has a lot more value then speaking, unfortunately the internet doesn't allow us to really hear the true intention and tone of voice of those with knowledge speak.

Dag, thanks for the kind words. There’s probably never a good a reason not to help a real person in our community. At my first match Kevin Drake took me under his wing and helped me find my way around. It didn’t cost him anything: He won the match.

I sometimes tell people that just because I speak like an officer doesn't mean that I am impressed by officers. The other side of that coin is that it is impossible to have a conversation with the functionally illiterate. They ask questions only to make statements. They say nothing of importance in the strongest possible terms, then throw a tantrum when you respond with the kind of bearable contempt that they unconsciously crave.

It has happened here before: Some new guy gets instantly angry at another member because he is embarrassed or because he gets called-out for doing something wrong. And it happens over and over again: A new guy who claims he graduated from some select military course (along with everyone else), and who once visited a foreign country (together with everyone else), and who feels a need to anonymously proclaim his ‘combat experience’ (whatever that phrase means today), starts posting here in order to engage in an erotic mental fantasy in which he is instantly worshipped by men he doesn’t know and has never met.

Sniper’s Hide Newsflash: His supporters are always the same people, those who cling to the margins and never miss an opportunity to make their opinions and themselves less relevant.

Just because someone doesn’t understand what I am saying doesn’t make me arrogant (although I suggest that there might be far better reasons, LOL!). And just because I refuse to talk down to someone doesn’t mean that I am subtly denigrating them (whether they deserve it or not). Do I correct bad information when I see it? Of course: Doing that used to be an unwritten obligation of the more senior members here. Do I sometimes refuse to cede the floor to morons? Sure. Maybe because I don’t have nearly the same amount of class as true gentlemen like Boothby, or Lindy, or Dave (Sinister), or Drake. But two of those four are already gone.

I mean here I am trying to help and I get yelled at, it hurts my feelings.

I may have to lie in bed all day to recover from the smack down.[/QUOTE]

When I read this tears came to my eyes because it was funny.

This guy simply won't quit. And the latest PM, received today:

Ive finished posting on the NRA instructors posts, Thanks to individuals that know their shit (not you) I have my answers. Please feel free to go on there and say whatever you like that suffices to aid your small mans syndrome. Nows your chance to be the big man and shit talk me without getting a response. You are absolutely THE MOST pathetic individual I have ever come across. absolute troll you are. Thanks for the nonsense dickhead I thoroughly didn't enjoy it. Complete waste of my time.
That's one more thing I have in common with 'FrankNess': Small man's syndrome.

Nows it's my fault that I inherited my mother's flattering figure. LMFAO!

And our government remains forced to trust people like this with firearms. 'Gotta love a free country!
