Awesome, thanks Adam

Re: New Rifle!

Well, this is when I would put a pic of my rifle, but the gun shop decided to tell my father that they would be open at 11, and then proceed to be closed at that time.

Lets just say my father and I aren't too happy and will not be doing business with him again.

Re: New Rifle! PIC!

Well, rifle is finally here. The trigger, surprisingly, is really good! Very short pull and a very light pull. I guess I got lucky.

I am never going to use the Waters Gun Shop again as an FFL. He was a huge jerk to my father, for no reason at all. He made fun of the rifle that Dad was getting, smirking, but whatever, I am happy, Dad is happy.

Thanks to KY338, a=Axeman, and Remau308

Re: New Rifle! PIC!

Yeah, dad hid the ammo in my room. Well, not really hid, it was sitting by my sewing machine, and I didnt look there. I was a little excited when I was getting things all put together on the rifle.

Re: New Rifle! PIC!

Alright, I put 40 rds through it today. Man, that was fun. One weird thing though, I have about 100 MOA of up in my scope? I know this doesnt seem right. I sanded the bedding off of the back of the base because it did not need it, as it sits flush without it. I un-mounted and re mounted the base, rings, etc, and still have quite a bit of up...

Re: New Rifle! PIC!

It is so much fun to shoot! Very little recoil, just a fun gun.
I don't get why some have brakes on their 308s. I'm a smaller dude, and I don't get tossed around by the rifle.

Start shooting some comps and you will see how much that brake helps out. Spotting your own shot is huge and anything that will help reduce recoil with make it easier for you to spot.

Re: New Rifle! PIC!

100 MOA of up in a SS sounds about right if it's on a 20MOA base. Mine has 88 MOA of up on a 20 base but that rifle action seems to slope in the opposite direction, on a flat base I have to use up elevation from mechanical zero on any scope I've had on it to zero at 100 yds.

Congratulations, that's very similar to my first rifle. When you start looking for another stock for it, shoot me a PM I've got a few around here that would fit it.

That is true. I hadn't thought about it like that.

Re: New Rifle! PIC!

Will do! Hopefully I get the stock soon. It's high up on my priority list right now, and since I have a somewhat steady income, it should be bought in the next month.

Re: New Rifle! PIC!

Congrats! Man I remember my first. Was better than Christmas! How about posting up some group pics? Even 100 or 200 yard targets can be fun to look at.
Where abouts you shoot at over there? I am in Traverse City. Do some shooting on power lines and use the hills for back stops. Have a place we can get a good 500+ shot at. Safe place with no side trails and other end is blocked off. Bring your dad!
Once your school is out, Might be able to help with some reloading too.

I am lucky and have 200 yards to shoot at my house. Dad and I might have to make our way over there some time, meet up with ya.

I'll get some group pics up when I get some match ammo. I'm not getting too impressive groups with the ammo I have, but it's getting the job done.
