Its time for Tac Op Porn

I have an X-ray 51 coming my way sometime in the near future. I'll be sure to post pics when it arrives!

P.S. - Mike, have you recieved my recent PM's? Not sure if they are working on or not, they don't appear in my sent folder...

I will post pics of mine when I get it! There have been threads started in regards to pics of TacOps rifles before, but sometimes such threads need to be revived because I know there have been a lot more of those rifles delivered to new customers. If old topics were never brought back up there wouldn't be a lot of new posts. I'd have to guess most topics have been covered at one time or another on here and if you just did searches all the time that would just get boring.

Better ones later.

Tera's weapons management

One thing i just noticed was her finger on the trigger. I'll let her know that is not proper weapons management.
That's true. However, anyone who has seen Tera in action knows that she is an absolute master with another type of weapon. She can also handle more than one at a time standing, sitting, kneeling, crouching, and prone plus many other positions...

OK, here you go. Here's my original X-Ray 51 in the Tac Ops traditional contrasting Green-T & Black-T color scheme. This Green-T formulation was less lighter in tone and less green than the original Green-T formulated by the late Walter Birdsong. Still, it was a much greener than "Naval Special Warfare" Green-T, which is what Birdsong applies to non-Tac Ops customers work. If you look really closely you can see the soft, chamfered edges on the receiver and recoil lug.

X-Ray 51 Part II

I guess no one has any pictures of their tac ops
Here's my current X-Ray 51 (also in Tac Ops traditional contrasting Green-T & Black-T). However, this Green-T is reminiscent of the original (darker) Green-T formulated by the late Walter Birdsong. Note the radiused edges on the proprietary Tac Ops floorplate.

Lefty X-Ray 51

Here's a friend's Lefty X-Ray 51. After he shot my original X-Ray 51 he had to have his own, even though he shoots rifles with bolts on the wrong side of the action...

I know for a fact that Tactical Santa Claus has dropped a few of the Hide Members Platforms down their chimneys. My guess is that they are busy from the holiday and will probably post some pics soon ;)

My rifle will be a New Year rifle. It should be here later this week or early next week.

My rifle is not like the others, this one is mine...

Is there a meaning behind the different reticle designs of the "O" in Operations or is it just the engravers choice?
My tango is different than the two X-rays above which are different from each other......
From what I understand they usually match the scope that is being put on the rifle.

streetbob_grayrider -

The "standard" reticle placed in the "O" is an old-school Mildot reticle (read Mildot reticle with football-shaped Mildots as found in old USMC scopes). However, as a special little extra, if Mike (Rescigno) knows the reticle that the end user's scope has sometimes the "O"'s reticle will mimic the reticle in the shooter's scope as dddoo7 said. Note that this is largely-dependent on the reticle and whether the engraver has artwork scaled-down to correct dimensions to replicate when doing the engraving work. Also, note that the space inside of the "O" is quite confined and some reticles just can't be scaled-downed that small and still be seen whether laser-etched or hand-engraved. Tac Ops engraving work is done the old-school way with a hammer & chisel and the guy that does Tac Ops engraving work is like a Michelangelo of engraving - over the years I've seen a lot of very intricate, amazingly-detailed floorplates.

I don't remember what reticle is in the "O" on my friend's Lefty X-Ray 51's barrel, but I told Mike to go with the standard old school Mildot reticle for my X-Ray 51 and other Tac Ops rifles because the Gen 2 XR reticle (my favorite), is just too fine to be to duplicate and see in the "O". As far as the reticle in the "O" on your Tango 51's barrel goes you might call Matt and ask him if he remembers which reticle it is. Hope this helps.

That black epoxy-looking stuff, did that come from Mcmillan with that, and yall paint it black? Or is something yall do? Because it looks thicker than the rough area on McBros stocks. Or it could just be me seeing things..

It is custom done to each stock. I believe it is epoxy textured and then painted. I have seen pics somewhere before the paint and that is what it looks like. I do know that they don't come from McMillan like that.

I don't know which model you ordered or when it'll be ready, but just to make you drool a bit here's a photo inside of a walk-in vault at Tac Ops. In addition to what you can see in the photo there are rifles, stocks, and actions out of the FOV (field-of-view) that are all in various stages of completion such as trigger tuning, timing screws, ect. Also, the two safes in the back against the wall were completely packed (they hold 20 rifles each plus other goodies).

If you look closely at the rack closest to the safe along the wall on the right side, the third weapon from the left is a Tac Ops Clandestine 12 shotgun with a 3rd Gen titanium suppressor.

Wow. That is awesome! Way too many tac ops rifles in one place. Lol. I looked very closely hoping to see my surgeon/manners build, but I don't think it is in the pic. I did however notice two others with DBM's.

I would love one of those shotguns though!
