I just got this beast back from Birdsong. It got completely recoated and the current TacOps OD green is my favorite. More glamor shots to follow.
Since I just posted on the Safe Queen thread (http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/snipers-hide-bolt-action-rifles/269830-show-your-shame-safe-queens-edition.html), I might as well add to the Tac Ops porn page. I've got two Tac Ops, one Tango 51 and one Lima 66. Both are incredible shooters. I've shot the shit out of the 308. The Tango line is the perfect combo of maneuverability and accuracy. When people ask which Tac Ops they should get, I always say the Tango line if it's for anything more than prone shooting.
Now, if you're shooting prone consistently, the Lima line is an awesome package, which is why I went for the Lima 66. It's been my dream rifle since I joined the Hide in 2009. However, as the Safe Queen thread shows, I haven't even shot it yet since it came from Mike. Too many projects, and I didn't want to do the load development half-assed. Here's the porn, one is a stock photo of a decked out Lima 66, and the other is of the test target of the Lima 66 sitting in my safe. I'm definitely curious to find out the proportion of 308s Mike has built to 300WMs. You almost never see the 300WM models, which is why I wanted one as soon as I knew Mike made a long range boomer. Without further ado, here's some solid fap material.
Now, if you're shooting prone consistently, the Lima line is an awesome package, which is why I went for the Lima 66. It's been my dream rifle since I joined the Hide in 2009. Yes, when the bottom metal was put in the greens didn't match up 100%, maybe 98%, but I'm type A like that.
The gun also had a little bit of wear from use and now it looks like the day I got it.

I put it on layaway (ok, a little wait time) and got it this week. I also got a hard case with it and the original test target and rings to boot.
I threw on an old SN3 scope.
It is a used gun, and I plan on using it more. A bit heavy though - may not take it elk hunting!

My Tac Ops rifle finally arrived today. It has been a long wait...but well worth the wait. I have tried to find a flaw with this rifle and can't. I haven't shot it yet...but hope to soon.

In all seriousness, Mike knows how to build them! We have imported a fair few now into Australia and they have all been laser beams! My personal best with a Delta51 was .017 back to back.
As we keep saying, when you buy a TacOps, you know if the group isn't what you wanted its because YOU did something wrong NOT the rifle!

So far the DBM is great. I can tell you more when I actually get to use it. I am crazy busy right now and haven't got to shoot the rifle yet...and this is my first experience with a surgeon DBM.
My 6MMBR bench rest rifle would have a tough time beating that. Id like to see a few test targets and some 5 and 10 shot groups. Sorry but looks too good to be true. As that target cherry picked or is that the standard?

Mike said he shot 4-5 groups and that was the last one. He said a couple others were in the tens. Either way...it is tighter than I can shoot at this point and maybe ever and it is tighter than the wind variation. Hopefully I will get to shoot it sometime in the next few weeks.

The rifle is a Tac Ops delta51 chambered in 308w, these rifles come from Tactical Operations Beverly Hills California, built by Mike Rescigno and his team.
The core of the Tac Ops rifles is the Remington 700 action. Every aspect of the action is trued or "blueprinted" to precise Tac Ops standards, which is considerably more than the typical squaring of all the surfaces. From the recoil lug and action face, threads, bolt face, locking lugs, even the bolt body, everything is lined up precisely, and then faced for squareness, parallelism and concentricity. At all times they try to hold their tolerances to .0001”.
Tac Ops delta51 barrel come from Krieger this one is chrome moly but they are made to a specific proprietary spec provided by Tac Ops the chamber is cut at Tac ops for federal Gold Medal Match and headspaced to .001" . They also use their own precision ground recoil lugs and their own crown design with thread protector. The complete action and Barrel are cryogenically treated to relieve stress.
The barreled action is bedded into the stock using a traditional aluminum pillar glass bedding procedure with a free floated barrel channel.
The stock on the Delta 51 is the McMillan A3 stock which has adjustable cheek weld, length of pull and cant, The bottom metal is Tac ops own design and stock is fitted with anchutz rail with sling studs and atlas bipod mount. Again, paying extreme attention to fit and finish, Tac Ops takes the standard McMillan stock and refinishes it with their own application of a rough texture for all weather gripping and then a durable epoxy paint.
The trigger is the old style factory Remington set at 2.5 lbs. Its very crisp and breaks cleanly and without any creep.
The rifle is incredibley well-balanced. If I had know about these guys years ago I would have gone this route instead of a custom bench rest rifle. Seems to make a 6MMPPC look like a 30 30.
If your first name is Brian and you're a doctor out of Texas I saw your rifle on the rack at Tac Ops a few days ago. I think Mike will be certifying your X-Ray 66 soon so he'll probably be getting in touch with you soon.

I will bet yours is the other surgeon that was being built about the same time mine was. Did you just get it?
Now that we're back on this "new", old site here are a few photos of my X-Ray 66 (.300WM). Unfortunately, my schedule hasn't been conducive to regular trigger time, but on the two occasions I did make it to the range to zero it at 100 yards, and then re-zero it after addition of a Tac Ops Brake I managed to keep my groups under 1/2 MOA. As most of us here know, shooting is a perishable skill - with the required trigger time and more rounds downrange with my X-Ray 66 I should be able to cut that down.

Love my X-Ray 66 and TacOps can. I'm hoping the Green Hornet gets out of limbo soon. It's Spring in South Texas, and I've got a squirrel issue!
Mike talked me into a Tango-51, after I was trying to put together some crazy stupid ridiculous "dream" build with him. I am glad he did, it's my favorite bolt setup and favorite firearm period. It's a great compromise between a hunting rifle and a modern "tactical" rifle which weighs a ton and usually demands prone shooting. I love the varmint stock; I can see why rifle stocks have looked similar for the last 100 years, they work well this shape. I can hit 50% standing at 600m! After six other .308s, many of which were top tier customs, I finally found my rifle!

Thats awesome! Tango uses the McBros HTG(M40A1) stock right? Cant remember the Tac Ops model names, but Im a bit more partial to the Baker and McHale stocks myself... regardless, that thing is sweet sir.

You are going to love your Green Hornet!! I've shot over 1,000 rounds thru mine mostly in the basement. Crazy crazy quiet!! Squirrels don't stand a chance!! Also have an X-ray 66 and X-ray 51 and Tac Ops 30 cal suppressor which is crazy quiet.

I spoke to Mike on the phone about a week and a half back. He seemed busy as always, but no indication that comms were down or there was a reason to believe something was awry. Just call him again, its like he never sleeps anyway
