JAE site looks live

Yep, site has been up for a few weeks. Since I had signed up w MDT for JAE email updates, I asked why I never got a notification that they went live. They told me that it was supposed to be an unadvertised soft launch of the site.

we agreed that since it was posted to the Hide a few weeks ago, that their launch may not be so soft.

I also asked them if the accessories shown for sale are new products or NOS from J Allen. They said that they did indeed get some stock from J Allen but that he couldn’t tell me if thses items were from that or new. More likely didn’t want to tell me.

I did order an ARCA rail and bag rider and they arrived in plastic sleeves w a new looking logo on the bit of cardboard stapled w part #, etc.

But this could just be repackaging of new old stock...or it could indicate that MDT is in fact in prod w some parts. I will say that these parts I bought had an identical finish to OG JAE accessories.

I did offer two feature requests to them, not expecting their product mang folks to really react, but I gave them some feedback;
1 - more vertical grips to bring trigger finger closer to trigger for those of us who can’t Palm a basketball. Haha. I’m talking about the rubberized grip that goes over the chassis’ grip area. If they just built the front up a bit to be more vertical, I think that would be a very good option

2 - thinner butt pad to reduce LOP. Yes, there are spacers to increase LOP but again if your not built like an NBA forward, you may want a reduced LOP so as to not have to crawl the stock. Standard pad is 1.25” and one .75” would be welcomed by some (like me haha)

Right now a buddy is grinding a .75” kick-Eeze pad to the outline of a spacer (same profile as the stock, yeah) and we will see how it works. Concerns are the lack of embedded metal in the pad to support the attachment bolts as the OG pad has and we will prob need new Allen head bolts full threaded vice the stock bolts.

it’s an experiment and we will just have to see if we can make it work...but I would love to shave .5” off of the LOP to make getting my eye relief easier....andI can’t move the scope any further back so there is that.

cheers.

I 1000% agree with this. A more verticle grip option wouldn't seem to be that hard to accomplish. Hell if someone had a 3d printer they could probably just make one and then a guy could texture it how he wanted. And a shorter lop option would be welcome as well. Maybe @MDT_OFFICIAL could tell us how we could make that happen

Hopefully MDT will have better pricing on these. Doesn't look like the accessories on the new site got any more "affordable".
This site is mdts. They just put it up keeping the jallen as a separate. You order from here and it comes from mdt. It's why mdts name is on the bottom of the page.

What I would really REALLY love to see, is a vertically and rotationally adjustable butt pad. Like, to the point were I’m just going to make my own soon if something doesn’t happen.
