Jeep Rubicon vs Toyota FJ

I had an FJ for 10 years, liked it a lot. Never had any issues with it, just oil changes. Used it mostly for driving on the beach or trails.

So whats the mileage like if you take it out of Park?
That pic was average of my last trip to Wilmington, NC with 27.1 mpg average. Right now, it is sitting slightly over 23 with mostly in town driving. I’m guessing on a longer road trip, it would around 28-30 mpg if I let cruise control handle the speed

My '02 TJ, with 35" BFG/TAs, Currie 4 inch springs and R.E. long arm lift, road super smooth.
Mine runs baby tires at 33x10.5 and just a 2 inch leveling kit in the front, but it rides smooth with the long wheel base. It is a JT though, with the turbo diesel.

Talk to me about reliability. I would not hesitate to buy a Toyota with a hundred thousand miles on it but I can't say the same thing for a Jeep as I don't have any experience with them.
Listen to all the other comments about newer Chrysler/Jeep products, if your looking for reliability and are going to put some miles on it forget about Jeep unless your good with turning wrenches and down time. I got really tired of it either being in the shop or torn apart in my shop, just constant issues. I averaged about 22K miles a year on my J/K, by the end of it I had just about replaced every factory Chrysler product on it and the bitch still continued to break.

Looking for an off road rig/Sunday driver. Which do you prefer? I like Toyota FJ because it's a Toyota. I like the room and looks of the Jeep (4dr).

Fight!
I don’t own either, but will take a Toyota “hands down” over just about anything else......if for no other reason than pure quality/reliability! We own a Toyota 4 Runner Limited, and while it doesn’t have all the “fluff” of other loaded-out SUVs....I believe it is far superior in quality! JMO memtb

Same here for any class of vehicle. If one of the choices is Toyota, that's the one I'm picking.
