Ok just got my 260 back from Mike Crain at Boatrite custom guns. He did a excellent job of setting it up. But like a dumbass I didn't send the trigger. Now the ^#$%^* Jewel trigger safty is binding. Releived the stock and finally found it is hitting the seekins DBM bottom metal just in front of the trigger. It onlu does it whn the rear action bolt is tightened all the way down and I mean all the way down. if you look at the safty linkage of the tigger that "dogleg" on the horizontal tranfer bar is hitting. Sorry for the long explaination. My question. it is less than a mm of contact.
Should I take metal off the top of a $300 piece of bottom metal or do I take the tranfer bar off and grind the point on the bottom of the dog leg off. I was always taught grind on the least expensive part first. I tried to contact Glen by phone but he seems top be pretty busy. Hopefully working on my WSM bottom metal. I could also take the jewel out and put a rifle basix in. But thats how I got this one in the first place. I bought it for my aics and it didn't fit it either. I quess when then say drop replacement for 700 it doesn't necc. say drop in and work:0
