JP Industries SCR 11

[Required one]

I'm a new member and I have a question about JP Industries. I never owned a JP and I'm thinking about buying an SCR 11. Before I put out a lot of money I want to see if anyone has anything negative to say about there products.

I own a scr-11 as well as the Lrp-07. You will not regret your purchase, mine shoots far better than myself can make it--typically my groups hover around .5moa. The rifle is solid, butter smooth, recoils like a 22 lr, trigger that is a gift from god. and is backed by the best Customer Service I have dealt with. You will be hard pressed to spend your money better.

Heck I am in the process of pricing out a jp 15 as a home defense gun. JP owns my wallet.

My Jps are not gamer guns, I used my LRP 07 for deer hunting this year, at the moment my scr 11 guards my home.

Unsuitable for self-defense, I never said that, but for example you can buy 2 colt 6920's for the price of one JP, if a reliable self defense carbine is your only goal. And proprietary parts like those found in JP's side changing handle design, is also a limiting factor, considering you can get regular rear chargers and BCG everywhere and cheaper.

To say the JP is only maker of accurate and reliable AR15's is a bit disingenuous.

I don't disagree with anything you've said. Perhaps I read a bit too much into your first post. I guess what I was getting at is that if someone wants the features of a JP for 3-gun competition, it certainly can also be used for defense.

I would be using this gun for outdoor range use. I like to put two 10” steel plates out at 100yd and about 20’ apart and go back and fourth on them with my ACOG and Dueck off set sights. I like to shoot golf balls at 240yd. I also like to shoot paper and find the smallest group with my hands loads.

I had a 5.56 OBR that could do this entire but the USPS lost it about 70 days ago. I do have insurance on it so…..

I have always had my eye on JP so I think it is just a matter of doing my home work and placing the order. I know I’ll be happy with it but I just wanted to hear what you guys had to say and so far it’s good! The only thing I’m not sure of is the single stage trigger.

It is the best single stage on the market, think ssa-e without the first stage.

The scr 11 will do all that you ask of it, and want to do with it. Mine shot a .74 group with m193 2 weeks ago.you will not regret your decision.

If a rifle is good enough for competition or if it's good enough for 3-gun then damn I am sure it is more than good enough for anything else. I have to laugh when people call JP rifles gamer guns or 3-gun rifles, think about it for a second if this rifle is good enough for competition than it is more than good enough for hunting or anything else for that matter. Buy the JP SCR11 and I promise you will be a very proud papa with the best customer service in the Business. I would not trade my LRP-07 for anything else like it out there.

Nothing wrong with any of us, nor is there anything wrong with the JP SCR 11. But JP markets it as a competition 3 gun rifle themselves, so excuse me all to hell if I call it a great 3-gun competition rifle. Does that mean I think it would not serve as well as a hunting rifle, or self defense rifle or a paper puncher??? No it does not.

But one does not have to spend $2799. Base MSRP to get a rifle that excels at the rather simple task of hunting, self-defense or paper punching, if that is all one wishes to use it for.....And that sir is the only point, and no other ill will has even been mentioned by me anywhere towards JP Rifles or anyone who wishes to buy one, or who already owns one.

If you think every post here on Sniper's Hide has to only sing the praises of every product mentioned, you're going to be sorely disappointed....

First Bobin, I apologize if you thought I was directing my comments @ you. I was talking about people who in general think that a competition gun cannot be used for anything else but. There is a very good reason why Police Departments and even Military are using JP Enterprise rifles, these rifles can be used for anything and I do mean anything. Yes you will have to make some modifications but there is nothing that these rifles can't do or handle within reason. JP markets their gun towards 3-gun because they started and dominated there, but now they are being used with great success in many other applications including hunting, swat teams, combat, ect. I think that all the guns represented here on the hide are good guns, but I bought a JP Enterprise rifle because they had very little if any problems, perfect quality, runs like shit through a goose, and damn accurate with a Customer Service that puts most to shame. That is why I spent $3500 for my rifle and it was worth every single penny. No you don't have to spend that much, but you know the saying you get what you pay for. Again I apologize if I hurt your feelings.

Hey 800mZero. If I may ask, did you have a custom finish on your gun. Your finish looks great. The black looks even from back to front. When I order I will want the barrel black and I would want everything to match. What do you suggest?

Numerous polls are taken each year at major Multigun and carbine matches as to the most preferred brand of rifle. JP Enterprises wins every time. There are 3 main reasons in order:

1) they are very reliable
2) they are very accurate
3) they are very customizable to the shooter

If that means they are a "game gun", I'll take a game gun every time!

This... I've got a CTR-02 in 6.5 and 223 and I love those sticks to death! Hell, when I have the wallet for it an LRP-07 will be the next girl to join the stable. They are surgically precise, can run hard and just do not fail. Also, as a company, they just continue to innovate. Feel like JP along with a few other manufacturers represent the final iteration of what ARs, as a platform, are capable of.

They're absolutely set up as a "game gun", and it seems to me they pride themselves at that as well right along with the multitudes of competitors who run them as well. They're a specific tool for a specific job, just like others are as well. [MENTION=5792]800mZero[/MENTION], beautiful rifle, but rock that JP brake indoors at night in a HD situation and tell me they're well suited to that in comparison to the other options. Nobody has said they wouldn't work for that, they do run like a raped ape and are very accurate at that, but they're far from ideal. I have a self built Seekins SP3G with a 18" Noveske LW barrel that runs like a dream and is every bit as accurate as my MK12, but it is purpose built for shoot and move games and would not be what I would grab for work.

OP, sounds like you're looking for something that the JP would certainly fulfill, and since you've wanted one for a while anyhow I think you already know what you're going to do. Me personally I'm not a fan of side chargers simply because I don't want to introduce a new training technique while I still carry a standard M4 for work, but they certainly have their place as well.

Redmanss that is the beauty of America and these forums, we all get to have our own opinion. I still disagree because you can order your JP LRP-07 anyway you want it. If you are willing, you can have JP build you one of their rifles to fit whatever your needs require. You can have them build it for Combat, 3-Gun, Sniper Rifle, hunting, hell JP Enterprise is a lot like Burger King. You can have it anyway you want it, all you have to do is pay for it. Not only did they buid my LRP-07 to my personal needs, but they also installed my scope mounts, scope, and took it to the range and zeroed my scope @ 100 yards. When I got my rifle all I had to do was go to the range and start shooting tiny little holes in the target and have a blast, no installation or handling required, ready to go out of the box. What more can a person ask for I say ?

+1 In your OP you asked if JP rifles were worth the money and if anyone had anything negative to say about them. Every reply in the thread was on point with what you wanted to know. You can also use the search function as this topic has been discussed numerous times in the past.

As far as the brake at night, all guns are loud dude, all guns indoors unprotected are going to make your ears bleed. However I agree I an not on an entry team. Luckily you can order your scr or any jp rifle with a regular flashider if need be. And bottom line if I have to use the JP to erradicate some crackhead threatening my family in the middle of the night, I'll deal with some hear hearing loss.
