Newer member here so I'll begin by saying I am a bird hunter so my background is with shooting shotguns. I have very little experience shooting a rifle (except for my .22) and prior to today have never shot an AR. I wanted to buy a rifle that was capable of shooting accurately at longer ranges and being that I live in CA I decided to choose an AR while I still have the opportunity. My next purchase will likely be a bolt gun. The intended use of the rifle is mainly to target shoot but with the potential for occasional hunting purposes.
After much reading on this forum I plunked down a ton of cash and ordered my JP LRP-07. About 12 weeks later I had it in my hand. Today I was able to take it to my local range for it's first test.
Here's a pic of the rifle.
After shooting some cheap military issue rounds to get close to a target I switched to FGGM 168g rounds. With my scope zeroed I started to shoot groups to see what I could do. I put about 70 rounds total through the rifle and here are some of the results.
All groups are 100 yards using FGGM 168g.
.507 MOA 3 rounds
.482 MOA 3 rounds
.477 MOA 3 rounds
.874 MOA 5 rounds. When I sent the 1st round of this group I knew I pulled it. The next 4 rounds measured .378 MOA.
To say that I am pleased is an understatement. This rifle has far exceeded my expectations, especially for a newbie to any sort of precision shooting. I figured I would post this in order to help others learn what this rifle is capable of. They are not cheap but if you are considering one of these rifles I say don't hesitate.
