Bit the bullet and bought an old favorite. Gonna leave it as is, just add a scope. I would like a night force, but I'm debating just dropping my Mk4 4.5x14 and put a night force on my rem700.
Anyone have NF on a M14 platform?

I put a Pride and Fowler Rapid Reticle on my EBR. Only 10x of magnification but the reticle is calibrated to 7.62 out to 800m. It actually works pretty well.

Scope mounts? No, but I believe the Sadlak is considered the gold standard. I have a Larue cantiliver on my EBR, it works well also but hangs on the to the picatinny rail on the forend.

I do recommend the Sadlak spring guide though. It's one of the most "bang for your buck" simple upgrades you can make for under $100.

I have both SADLAK and ARMS mounts, go with SADLAK. While the ARMS mounts I have is much older and of decent quality, the SADLAK blows it out of the water in quality and reliability. The SADLAK is the best known mount for M1A's and what most others are compared to, much like Federal Gold Medal ammo for comparison. I'm not sure if I'd use the Sprinfield mount if someone gave it to me for free. Too many bad stories and quality control problems that precede them. Spend a few dollars extra on the SADLAK and you'll be more than satisfied.

Never had the pleasure of the sadlak.I have used the ARMS for several years with great results.Springfield mounts are a joke.We had Smith enterprises mounts on our M14s in Iraq in 05.They are heavy but solid.
