and all i can say is WOW. The clarity, resolution, and light gathering exceeded my expectations. The model I speak of is the PMII 3-12x50 with a P4 reticle (I'm happy I didn't order the P4 fine).

The only other experience I have with a "high quality" scope is the Nightforce 3.5-15x50. I had a lot of trouble with this scope(and their customer service) which is described in this post I made a while back:
Nightforce woes

Long story short, I sold the NF at a significant loss. Given all the feedback from happy NF ownders, it made me question my vision despite the fact the optometrist told me my vision was fine.

Ok, back to the Schmidt&Bender, The clarity, resolution, and light gathering is OUTSTANDING. I've read plenty about shooters who own both and have said there is no discernible difference between the two.

As far as my experience, the difference between the S&B vs. the NF I had is the same between my 15 year old leupold and the NF I had.

I didn't even need to focus this new scope, it's perfect out of the box. I don't know if a scope get's better than the S&B, other than the box with the Hensoldt.

If anyone is questioning if the S&B is worth the exra $, I say YES!

If my purpose was strictly for paper/steel targets, the fine version would be better..
