The ups truck just dropped off my new 4-16x50 pst ffp moa.

Took it out the box and liked the feel of everything. Next I took it outside and I see a very obvious green glare in my eye piece that is very distracting. It is overcast here and 2 hours before sunset. I can only imagine if it was bright and sunny how bad it would be.

Anyone else notice this in theirs? I have read every single pst post on this board and was by no means expecting a NXS, but have never seen this in any decent optic. Unless someone knows a magic trick other than walking back in the house I am going to have to move on. I was planning to use this scope to deer hunt and learn my way through long range marksmanship. I will be looking elsewhere.

Thanks for all the answered questions I have posted, glad I finally got to see one in person.

Could you explain that a little more thoroughly???

Re: Just received my 4-16 pst

Thats sad to hear, I just got my 6-24x ffp MOA last week and finally got out to the range yesterday for zeroing. Love the scope, not a single fault with it (at this point in time), found the glass to be nice and clear even at 24 power and I still have over 40 MOA of adjustment left with a 100m zero.
Back to your problem like coyote said some more detail or a picture if possible to better discribe the problem would be nice. Ultimately contact Vortex, I haven't heard a single C/S complaint yet about them.

+1

What is a "green glare"........???

Re: Just received my 4-16 pst

Green reflection. Green blob like glare along the bottom half of the eye piece.

Just to compare I went to a friends house and compared it against a 2.5-10x50 4200, 4-16x56 millet buck gold and a 3-12x56 meostar. None of these scopes experienced this green "glare" and had 3 guys plus myself looking through it.

Sorry if I am not making myself clear enough, the glass certainly is not in my opinion good. When a millet is outperforming a scope I loose any confidence in it meeting my needs.

All of this is only from an optical observation and I even got others to make sure I was not the screwed up one.

Already boxed it back up and will be returning it.

???? I thought all PST illumination was red?

You are right. I stand corrected. Since I have a PST, I should have checked!
