KAC SR25 challenge!!!

I’m a little late to arrive to the show. I’ll see what I can throw up next weekend when I go to the range.

I own an KAC ECC Sr25, I will say I have been able to throw up .68” groups before when I do my part. I would say I average group would be around .9” or so. Lots of factors depending, rate of fire etc. with that being said out of it I have thrown groups of 1.25”. I have stretched its legs out to 700 yards on several occasions and had first round impacts on a 8” target and went 9 for 10 on my last range outing.

Additionally I have had two friends go through 5 large Frame AR that cannot get them to run consistently suppressed and hold up to the same accuracy. I’m really thinking US Specials OPs have been wasting their money on this elitist cool aid shit too!

To the OP I challenge you to put up a Large Frame AR that can shoot a 6x5 under .75” MOA. In addition can shoot a wide range of ammo light and heavy projectiles suppressed and unsuppressed Without any modification to the gas system or buffer. If you can produced this I’ll trade you My ECC straight up for said rifle.

I used to do accuracy and final shooter QC as an independent contractor for a particular rifle manufacturer most here would recognize. I preferred to be independent because that would allow me to call out any problems I found without worrying about employment, and them still being held to the contractual arrangement.

At that time, the company used a lot of LW barrels, as well as Krieger barrels.

Many of the LW pipes would either need to be tested over and over until we could get a good 3 round group, or they would be rejected because we couldn't get a test target to ship with the rifle that met the standard.

Almost all of the Krieger barrels would crush it out of the gate, easy initial grouping, box it up and send it off. Some I would have to re-test.

I was going back and forth overseas at the time working with coalition sniping community partners in Europe, and the topic of LW barrels came up.

One guy owned his own firearms retail business there, and said basically what he heard at IWA (the European SHOT show) from LW was that they keep all their pipes that pass their German standard QC processes for the European market, and send the reject barrel blanks to the US "because stupid Yankees don't deserve the best they have to offer, can't shoot anyway".

The accuracy problems were not as bad with .308 bores though, so a lot of those shot just fine. In the 6mm bores and .338 LM, we had a lot that just wouldn't shoot. There was one particular customer that ordered a .243 Winchester initial barrel that would put 4 rounds into a bug hole, then always throw the 5th at 1.7" at 100yds. It was vexing, and repeatable no matter the shooter.

I don't recall if I ever got a .338 LM to shoot into the standard out of the gate with LW pipes. Maybe half of them would shoot 3rd groups after some breaking-in.

BTW, all the test ammo we were using was Lapua coming in on pallets in ammo cans. It was crazy burning through .338 LM just to do 100yd accuracy testing, sending nearby shooters packing after I politely warned them that they probably didn't want to shoot next to me at the range with that big muzzle break and .338LM or some of the .300 WM barreled-rifles.

The LW pipes I've used that were sourced within Europe were very accurate, including the 6.5mm and .338 LM ones. A good friend of mine had a custom LW pipe made for his rifle to shoot the GS Customs really long bullet, and we were punching chunks out of side plates from APCs at considerable distance.

Same with .260 Rem and 6.5x47 Lapua rifles. Anyway, this is what I think of when I see LW pipes and accuracy mentioned.

All I know is my shooting group all got in on the 308s and the 223s from that bulk run and they all shot lights out among the best barrels I have ever owned. There is an understanding among our group if anyone sold the extra barrels we have to offer it up.... they were that good.

Did you have the 14.5 pined and welded or is an sbr?

It is pinned with a MAMS on it, but my 11.5 is SBR'ed. Its a good soft shooting rifle but honestly I wished I had just pinned the factory flash hider for less concussion at the muzzle. Recoil is already almost nothing on the SR15.

Saw recent write up on the new Kac 6.5 uppers and the average grouping was well in .75” moa. I’d love to have one but I’m poor right now

Yes and its filmed through a Leupold MK4 spotter and also camera was popped off and then connected to a sig kilo 2000 immediately to prove range. I need to post it and the 440 yard headshot.

Not trying to be mr super tacticool.....just using the gear I own effectively.....meat goes to freezer and feeds my family.

Sharfshutz762 started that by trying to shit on me with my savage and cheap scope.

I don't claim to be the most awesome shooter out there because I know I'm not.

History interests me (especially military history) so all the equipment used and how it came to be makes for good reads/viewings.

Sr25/m110, mk12....lists goes on and on of rifles I'm a "fan of" so to speak. MK12 was developed with 5th group which is close to where I grew up and Crane isn't too far.

Sr25/m110 has dropped a lot of individuals need to eat lead.

I am thankful I wake up every day in the land of the free and HOME OF THR BRAVE. Those that have served THANK YOU. I am privileged and honored to serve those who have served.

Seems logical because all the other manufactures from ruger, larue, Daniel defense, etc.... have never had a failure or had to warranty any work. I’m sure they don’t even staff a customer support team because their rifles don’t fail and if they do the customer is dead.

That’s a bummer on the elk! I actually live in southern, OH now . Last year my brother in law got drawn for Elk archery in KY. First day out he took a shot on a 5x5 bull. We spent 6 hours in 91 degree heat tracking it. We never found it, such a bummer but what an experience. Where can I find your video?

All my ARs have AGB's but I have no problem leaving them at their current settings and shooting suppressed and and unsuppressed. And how many rounds of various bullet weight ammo do I have to fire?

I’m curious do you have links to the videos of JP’s shooting 6x5 sub .75 moa?
That’s a tall order for any semi auto. My JP in 223 is no more accurate than my SR15’s.
JP makes a good rifle, but I’ve beat many JP’s with my SR25s in competition.

I dont have any links of people shooting a 6x5 off the top of my head (The 6x5 is a SH standard created by Elfster) but there are endless online reviews and videos showing the JP LRP-07 maintaining .65 MOA

If you want to get first hand knowledge of what JP's can do send Frank Galli aka @lowlight the HMFIC a message, I'm sure he will be delighted to educate you.

You guys need to remember the 6x5 is a true testament to a rifles accuracy just as much as it is to the shooters capability.

Most shooters get their handloads dialed in, shoot a few 5rd groups to confirm accuracy and zero then probably never do that again until something changes, like swapping scopes or the shooter notices their accuracy going to shit.

Shooting a 100 yrd 6x5 on the bench or prone with nothing more then a Bipod and rear bag takes a lot of self discipline especially when operating a large frame AR and not a lot of people have the patience to do it. I will say since it's something I personally enjoy doing, I've noticed that the discipline it requires has significantly improve my long-range game as well.

When I get up to the lake I will bring back the ACC and shoot the 6x5 on camera for groups. I’ve realistically only shot 4 groups with that rifle to zero it and gone on about my day. It’s hit what I’ve aimed at out to 805 and killed everything that’s had a round shot at it.

Whats wrong with someone spending good money on a good gun? Not everyone wants a backyard build with mix and match parts, or cares to brag that "I only spent $27 and a pack of bubble yum to make a sub Moa rifle". I like nice rifles, all my glass is nightforce, all my rifle suppressors are Surefire. Can I build a rifle? Sure, im an armorer for my agency and ive built plenty, but I also like nice things and dont mind paying for them if they are a quality product. Ive built many cheap camaros, mustangs and corvettes, many of them running 9s and 10s with over 800 horsepower, but I can tell you none of them ever compared to my BMW M5, even though it *only* had 700 hp and wouldn't have beat any of them at the drag strip, followed closely by my 600 hp M3.

You realize the market for Knights rifles didn't start at 10-12K for MK12, right? I suppose you make fun of people who buy machine guns as well for $30,000+, not realizing that many bought them for $1500 or less before the ban and are now worth 20 times what they paid. Sure you might make 5% or so a year on your Rolex, but ive doubled my investment with Knights, HK and many others in the time it took me to get bored of it and list it online, and the values only go up. In fact, id go as far as saying there won't be a time in history when any popular name brand is worth "jack crap". Even the Colts no one cared about a year ago are worth 3-4 times their original value right now. Just because you like to buy garbage firearms that have zero value when you buy them, and zero value when you try to sell them, doesn't mean quality stuff doesn't have a better market.

Today's 100 yard slow prone. Home built AR-15, Vortex Viper 1-4 (My current match rifle.), MK262MOD1, 100 yards. 90 degrees and killer humidity.

Called flyer 7 at 11 is 3.66, the other 19 are 2.8. Not sure how I pushed the one at 2 O'clock out there but I'll claim it.

ETA: Sorry guys, just noticed this is on the bolt action board.

1. I never said an SR25 wasn't accurate.
2. I said I could make make a copy for less than $4K.
3. Yes, that is a sub moa AR-15 shot with a sling, not off a bag. I dont have a picture of the only group shot off a bag and don't care that I don't. It shot as well as either the Rock River NMA2 or NMA2 upper I have.
4. I don't care if you think my group looks like a barn door. I know my limit with a sling and 4x scope and I know what the rifle can do. Like I said, we shoot different games. I can tell you that the Hundred Yard Challenge looks like shit shot with a sling.
5. I could poke the bear and say "I see you haven't claimed the prize.", but that's between you and Jake.

I called LMT and tried to give them money, they said we dont sell rifles direct, go to a distributor. I said ok, find me a distributor with a MWS Sniper package in stock... they said none have it, we can build you one to order and have it done around November.

I called Knights, they said yes, we have the APC and APR in stock. I said great, I will take one of each.

One of the two businesses wants to sell rifles and earned my business. I had one of the green MWS rifles in the past and while it was a great shooter, its a tank and not exactly pleasant to do anything with besides bench rest shoot. I still plan on buying another, but im not going to slap down $2700 with hopes and dreams it shows up someday. If the Knights rifles dont shoot, they get sold and I move on to something new, or circle back to what previously worked. The MR762 is a real shooter as well, I just wish they had more barrel options in the US like they have in Europe.

Oh, and Scars rule. Scar 20 > LMT anything.
