Going to get a brake for my 300wm. The 2 locally well known smiths install KDF's. They will install others, but is more expensive, and they seem to be experts at the KDF installation. I would prefer the Defensive Edge break. Just from a physics standpoint I would think it reduces more recoil. Not to mention cleaning the holes in the KDF would be a pain. Speaking from the experience of cleaning the port holes on my O/U.

So, is there a difference? If not I will go with the KDF. If there is I will pay the extra and run the risk of someone installing a brake that they dont have much experience with.

Thanks

I do not know about the other, but I can tell you that the KDF works very well. As for cleaning, I agree with you, it's a little time consuming. I just proofed a 270 WSM, and the recoil was hardly noticeable. Good luck

that info helps. Another good thing about the KDF is that its not indexed, and that should allow one to take it on and off with having to worry about getting screwed back on the why it was before.
