I think we are responding to the journalist's tale. We understand that the actual facts may develop differently.
If you are not LE and you shoot an unarmed teenage girl, what would you expect to happen?

This is true - but it isn't a full picture of the situation.
Police deaths per capita of protected population have gone down due to better training and tactics. Its not that the job isn't dangerous...its that the baddies that want to kill cops are getting fucked up first for the most part.
Saying that being a cop is low danger is like saying skydiving is perfectly safe.

In order to assess the danger of a job, you shouldn’t look at death rates, you should look at serious injury rates. In the case of assessment of law enforcement risks of violent attack, we need to look at aggravated assault rates.

I for one will, as usual, wait for some actual fucking facts instead of sucking the litany of media cocks most of you seem eager to fellate. This is the same media the rest of you will, IN EVERY OTHER CIRCUMSTANCE, say is lying and supporting an agenda that is contradictory to your own values and beliefs. For some reason many of you have decided that in this case the media is absolutely telling the whole story and there’s no need for an investigation. Give those cops a lethal injection already. Some of you are just assholes who hate cops without exception, and at this point I’ve accepted you will always exist and cannot be swayed. Others of you are allowing your emotions to take hold instead of waiting for facts.
To be clear, I’m not saying the cops were right to shoot that girl. Obviously it’s tragic and I hate that it happened. The problem is, WE DON’T KNOW SHIT YET, let along enough to make an assessment as to whether or not it was reasonable.

She's only in tac gear because the cops dressed her in it after they killed her!!
Nevermind forensics, they probably poked holes in the tac gear in all the exact places and angles as the bullet holes to complete the conspiratorial illusion!
Besides, the coroner is probably in on it... we all know what really happened because the same media that none of us trust, that we laugh about on a daily basis because they lie about Trump, the last Presidential Election, Covid, etc... they DO tell the truth about cops and they NEVER sensationalize or try to spin a shooting in a negative light!

I don't "want" to jump to conclusions, but when everyone, including the cops go quiet.....something is up....and from what I have seen, its because the cops shit the bed.
If departments have any evidence they didn't fuck up, they release it pretty darn fast.

Cop was easy to spin up. Pretty intimidating when he turned around after being told not to.
I used to have the same thought, and I defended cops to oblivion and back.
Then this sick idea that the blue would sweep bad deeds under the rug bc you had a badge got more and more prevalent. Than the realization that you get shunned if you don't protect the badge with no regards to a moral compass set in.....then I realized some fucked up shit was going on, so my thought process changed. Bad cookies need to be deleted, and good cookies protected. But in my experience thats not a thought process embraced, but attacked, because you aren't blindly protecting the badge.
Edit* I've always hoped ALL departments weren't that way, and maybe they aren't. Hell, small town deputies have never given me pause.
