I like the idea of the Tailgunner 2- Small back pack that sits low with shoulder straps to make it carry comfortable. Unfortunately for my uses I cannot justify $300. Is there anything else with a similar style that's more (ahem) affordable?
I have a Kifaru Koala that is probably 3 years old with pretty much zero use. I use it to store a handgun, mags, cash and some other items. I might be willing to let it go. It is very similar to the Tailgunner 2, they make the Koala Lite but not the Koala anymore. The Koala is similar to the TG2, just a bigger version of the Koala. Let me know if you are interested I might be willing to part with it.
The kifaru board is a good place for used kifaru gear.
Now, the thing with kifaru gear, even well used, it's pretty much perfect. Fantastic warranty, super solid gear.
I have a tailgunner1, along with several other packs. I never regretted spending hard earned cash on kifaru after I returned from my first real trip in the field with it. The thought and attention that goes into it is unmatched, and it's made here in CO.
I have a TG2 and have it set up with a center divider panel with elastic loops for use as a Med bag - to me it works well in this capacity. I would not want this as a small GP bag.
I also have, and you may want to take a look at - a Tactical Tailor Buttpack Modular Buttpack - I like this a small GP lumbar pack. You'll need some form of a belt and 'spenders but it is worth a look.
