KMW loggerhead on a Sako TRG

Don't the TRGs already come with adjustable comb? Why switch from the Sako piece to the Loggerhead? If you're set on the Loggerhead, PM Terry Cross on here and see what he says, or Stockdoc who installs them all the time.

The comb on the TRG is adjustable with spacers.

I would PM Terje here on the hide and see if he can make one of his "tooless" removable cheek pieces/ butt spacer system with the proper height/ LOP for you. Here's a link to a thread with some pics of Terje's work. I had a set when I had my TRG and it is nice.

Im familiar with the spacers and this is the exact reason for my asking this question. Who would want spacers if you could use an adjustable cheek. I was thinking stockdoc might could easily do this. With the Manners Stockdoc has done, I just cant belive TRG owners have not stepped up. Maybe Ill go first

Unless there's something integral to the TRG stock that would prevent it, I cannot see why you couldn't use loggerhead hardware on one. All you have to have is a solid foundation that can be milled out to accept the hardware.

If you do it, make sure you provide pics and info to others that have TRGs and might want to do the same. And as mentioned, contact Terry Cross and see what he says. I found him to be quite accessible and easy to talk to.

I run spacers on my AICS because I've had adjustable cheekpieces slide down. Not much, just a millimeter or two, but enough to be noticeable. The good thing about spacers is you never have to worry about finding the same height if you need to pull the cheekpiece.

Same with the KMW hardware. An "E" clip is used to maintain repeatable height (and won't slip) and a clamp to hold it in place. The cheekpiece is also adjustable laterally.

I got some good pics of my t4a and the trg stock in comparison. It should work fine, ill just need to mill the center material out of the TRG cheek and fill in with some devcon. Ill have to remove the metal channel the TRG cheek slides on leaving an empty channel that can also be filled in with some Devcon after I mill the space out for the loggerhead. The total cost for devcon and loggerhead is about $120. Thought about having the whole stock painted mutlicam after anyways. Should look pretty sweet. Ill post pics later.

I likewise am a fan of Joe's work. He recently completed a KMW install for me and did a great job. Will be sending additional stocks to him in future.
