I'm wondering if anyone has any first hand knowledge using the Match Burner bullets in their 6.5cm. If so, what grain weight was preferred and what ballistics were achieved? Thinking about switching from the ELD-M's to these.

I've only shot the 140 OTM match burners in my CM- but they have worked great. They are very close to Hornady 140 bthp, but in my gun the Barnes is just a little better.

I don't have any data to compare as far as the different bullet weights, primers, brass or even powder. The first combination worked out great so called it a day.

140 OTM at 2.800 OAL (mag length) with Starline large rifle primer brass, 210 primers. The velocity is 2780 fps with 40.8 grains of H4350 out of a 24" barrel. That's not very fast by most of the data you will find on this site- but it was a very consistent node- and couldn't go much higher without pressure. This combination is shooting under 1/2 moa at 100, and consistent results out to 1000 yards.

I tried the 140 Match Burners a few years ago with good success. My review on them might still be on here, but that might have also been when we switched to Scout. I don't have any of my load data from testing on hand, but I'm fairly certain it was in the usual "42 grains of H4350 in Hornady brass" range and MV was in the mid 2800s. They shot well enough, but i had some issues with really inconsistent bullet lengths, like a 0.010" spread, so my seating depths weren't consistent. It may have been a bad lot, but I bought a few thousand 140 ELDM shortly after trying the Match Burners and never went back. If you shoot any 6mm calibers, their 112 Match Burners are fantastic!

CANEZACH thank you for the input. I definitely want to see if I can work up a load that will be successful for me. 42 grains of H4350 seems to be the ticket with 6.5. I'm currently shooting the 140 ELDM's now, and they're great. I want to try the 130's too.

OLD_LONGHAIR please let me know when you get the load data for those 145's. I would love to see that.

I don’t shoot the match burners but do use the 127 lrx out of my 6.5 creed hunting rifle and there fantastic. I also use the lrx in my 270 and 25-06 and I will say that all three like a lot of jump. Off the top of my head I think there all jumping 80 thou. On your question about the lighter weight bullets I also switched from Hornady 140 match to the 130 eldm and love them. Much faster over 38.9gr of rl15 and shooting super accurate out of my comp gun 26” krieger also jumping the 130eldm 40 thou
