KRG Bravo or KRG X-Ray?

Do you wrap your thumb around the grip ? I tend not to, more keep the thumb to the bolt side of the chassis....
The X Ray's cheekpiece is relatively narrow compared to the Bravo's.

I have two X Rays, don't have a Bravo, but I do have a Bergara rimfire in their HMR stock. The HMR's comb (aka cheekpiece) is much more comfortable than the X Ray's and is similar to the Bravo.

You can always buy an Xray and later on try a Bravo rear end on it.

No, I float it on top. The xray has an actual little spot for it vs just the wide flat sloping top.

Any flemsiness /flex in the X-ray in the buttstock? It looks pretty thin / narrow just beind the grip.
I had a previous generation where Im pretty sure it was metal dipped in plastic or something so it was super solid feeling so I cant speak to exactly what you would get now but I had zero. Felt more rugged than the bravo.

I didnt mind the xray cheek piece as it was normally but I also did have a weibad cover for it for some nice suede for most fo the time so maybe I jus dont remember not liking it. I use the weibad on my bravo too though so its sort of apples to apples.

I tried out both and ended up going with the Bravo. I really wanted the X-Ray initially but ended up feeling much more comfortable behind the Bravo. I didn't jive with the thumb rest on the X-ray. My thumb hit the buttstock support in a way that became increasingly uncomfortable the longer I shot it. The weird thing is, I don't remember that happening with the Whiskey-3 Gen6 that I got to shoot.

The Bravo feels like a familiar and comfortable handshake to me. It's perfect with the adjustable height/cant buttplate add-on.

As with most things, it comes down to personal preference. I have played with the X-Ray quite a bit on my friends RIMX and I have a couple of Bravos myself. I would choose the Bravo again over the X-Ray because to me it is just more comfortable. I personally have never been a fan of any of the chassis systems I have had or played around with, but that is not to say they are not good, they just never felt natural to me.

I really like the Bravo. I think the deep drop on the pistol grip gives me the ability to get my hand where I want it and get the same trigger pull each time without torqueing the rifle during the shot.

I've got both the x-ray and the bravo for my tikka's and between the two chassis, I've got to say that I prefer the x-ray. As mentioned earlier, the thumb-shelf on the x-ray is extremely comfortable and just feels like a natural spot for your thumb to lay. I don't really use a traditional pistol grip hold when shooting so the thumbhole is only beneficial for rifle manipulation or handling, at least for me...

The bravo does have it's "pro's" list when compared to the x-ray. The bravo is lighter and it does have a more familiar feel to that of a traditional stock. The other added benefit is that the bravo is available for the 10/22 platform. I ended up purchasing that for my 10/22 so it's nice to have the same exact nomenclature for a chassis on the two rifles.

In all, you won't be disappointed with either the x-ray or the bravo because they're still very similar. Hope this helps
