I am about to take my first reloading course. My primary goal is to find the optimal load for my new Krieger barrel. Could you share some thoughts on bullets, brass and powder I should consider while preparing my first loads for Krieger barrel in 308 1:10 twist?

one forum down in the reloading depot you will find more info than this thread will ever generate

Ive got a 30 inch krieger barrel. I run 175 grain sierra matchking lapua brass, federal 210 match primers and 43.5 grains of h4895. Average velocity is 2830. Becarefull and work up your load. The sticky thread the poster above me posted has a guy in there that has 26" krieger barrel and hes showing signs of pressure at 42.5 i think he said and im showing no signs of pressure.

Powders you can try are varget, h4895, reloader 15, cfe223, viht n550. Go on midwayusa.com or brownells to buy sierra matchkings. For 308win ur lookingat 35 to 38 bucks a box of 100.

What powders can you get a hold of? What components can you find in general? My Kreiger likes 42.4 of Varget with the 175 SMK in Lapau brass. It also likes 43.1 of RL15 with the 178 a max in Hornady brass.

I can get hold of varget, berger, lapua, smk bullets. That's for sure. I know there are tons of threads about reloading 308 win. but I would like (if you guys allow) to make a shortcut and receive feedback in particular from those shooting Krieger 1:10twist.

I have a Krieger 1:10 24" barrel mounted for my .308. And I can give you some loads that work well in it for MY particular barrel/chamber configuration. Just keep in mind that what works well in my barrel most likely will not in yours, as barrels are not the same even when coming from the same manufacturer with the supposid same specs. One can order 2 identical barrels from Krieger only to find they'd need a different load to get the same accuracy. So . . . just a heads up in that regard.
