Bought a new Viper PST Gen II 1-6x24 for one of my AR's, my first Vortex optic. Maybe not necessary, but the first thing I do with a new scope is max out the turrets in either direction then return to the middle. Past the midpoint in either direction the turrets were extremely difficult to turn, so much so that it got to the point that I had to use a rubber jar opener to twist them. I had read that this was by design since the scope was a "set and forget" type, but I didn't expect them to be this tight. I contacted Vortex and they confirmed that the scope was designed to be this way, but if I was unhappy with it I could send it in and they would take a look at it.
I sent the scope in on a Tuesday and Thursday they sent an email confirming receipt and that they would get to it in 5-7 business days. I received another email the following Monday that the scope had been shipped back to me and I received it Tuesday. Door to door to door in 7 days. I fully expected to open the box and see my scope with a letter explaining what repair, if any, was done. I did receive a letter with an explanation of the problem...but also in the box was a brand new scope. Now I see why everyone speaks so highly of Vortex's warranty.
