HILLIER LAKE - WESTERN AUSTRALIA.

Please SHARE and Friend/Subscribe :)

Did you know that there’s a pink lake in Australia? It’s called Hillier Lake and it’s located above the Islands, Western Australia Recherce in the Kalbarri Region.

The lake’s color is related to a specific species of green algae and bacteria. It is a salt lake and when it becomes very salty (saltier than sea water) and the temperature becomes really high, the pink halobacteria starts growing at the bottom of the lake making the lake turn pink.

It's so pink, it even remains pink when you pour some of it out on the grass.
