Larue scope mount repeatability, really?? - AR15.COM

I thought this might be of some interest to those wondering about LT mounts for a precision rig. This test shows that the mount is at least as repeatable as qd mounts that cost twice as much. What I am still unsure about is whether it will loosen over time as described in some discussions I have read on this site. The OP in this thread states that his LT mounts have not come loose in 1000 rounds. It does appear to have marred the finish of the rail, although the poster states that it is not damaged. I think I would have to disagree with that after seeing the pic. I suppose at the very least, the test answers a few questions.

Don't get me wrong-I'm not going to run out and replace all my spuhr and gdi mounts with Larue's, but I thought this test was worth a look.

I tested the shit out of the mount on one of my 50's and it held zero good and has not moved after well over 500 rounds so far.
I didn't plan to keep this mount on this gun but because its held up Its now going to stay.

My experience with them have been that they are repeatable, however they will mar the shit out of your stuff. I've stopped buying their stuff in favor for the Bobro mounts when I want a QD setup.
