So the range near my house has a pond that i have to shoot over. Its just the way its set up. Shots are taken from various points on a hillside 200-350y out. Impact area is a berm on the far side of the pond. Well it was nice and warm out today, and the lesson for today is that MIRAGE IS WAY WORSE over water. I swear i couldnt get parallax worth a damn all day, even on the lower magnification. Shimmer so bad the headshake method felt unreliable. Anyone else experience this? Glass is awesome, Leupold mark 4 LR/T 8.5-25x50 M5. I was very happy with the rifle though. Stock rem 700 AAC-SD. Only work ive had done is a bolt knob install and Cerakote finish to the metal. Put together a 3 shot group at 200y in the .60-.75 MOA range clean barrel.
