Just ordered a Leica ER 5 2-10x50 for under 1000.00 new. I’m hoping that’s a good price and the optics are everything I’ve heard about Leica. Anyone that may have one of these would you please give me your thoughts on this scope. Thanks

Friend, I don't know anything at all about that scope, but after you've ordered something is the wrong time to ask advice about it. If you're having doubts about it, my only advice is send it back, have your money refunded, and do a little more research before putting your money down next time. Otherwise, feel free to use the search bar and pray you didn't make a bad investment.

I’ve done a ton of research and feel good about it. Just wanted some perspective on if everything the reviews are saying are legit. I can’t wait to get it in hand

When you get it in let us know what you think.
I'm looking hard at them as a low light hunting option.

I got one from Eurooptic a few years ago for like $799 with the BDC reticle. I've got it on a Blaser R8 in 308 and it's one of my favorite setups. The glass is typical Leica and punches way above it's cost. It's exceptional in low light and the reticle is fat enough to be visible in lower light. If yours happens to have it, the BDC reticle is useful for hunting if you take the time to build data around it, at any rate it's subtended in MOA. I wish it was illuminated but in general I am super happy with it and would grab another one if it came up for the cost.

I did the same thing, but I had it on a 45/70 first. It currently sits on a short barreled R8 .308. I bought mine years ago at EO for around $750. The glass is good, & it’s a good value for under $1000 IMHO. It does fine in low light conditions. I would definitely buy another too at that price point.
