Actually the 1911's just tagged along and watched the 30-06 win 2 wars. In a bolt rifle form in WW1 and in the Garand in WW2.
The '06 has killed more 2 and 4 legged creatures worldwide than the .308 and 6.5creedmore combined.
The AK has the highest body count hands down!
You're probably right about that. However, in my post I was comparing the '06 to the 308 and 6.5 to poke a little fun at the fans of them. I wasn't saying it was the overall leading killing round in history.
If we are talking about just rounds alone and not a specific gun, I think the .22LR might have killed the most just due to how old that cartridge is.
How can you read the first post here and then take any other posts seriously?

I would say 7.62x54r would give it a run for it's money especially since AK is split between 5.45 and 7.62.
The 7.62x54 probably has the record for the highest number of close range targets being set on fire from the muzzle flash.

15 rounds of 9mm from an M9 to the center of mass has the same outcome as 7 rounds of .45ACP from an M1911. Also, a .357 Mag from a DA revolver beats them both!
A majority here are bandwagon haters of Savage Rifles. The rest think that a $4K rifle makes them a better shooter. It doesn't.
In my experience, this statement is objectively true.
