But the gene pool is pretty shallow on GB.
They are alarmed and panicked, but the writing has been on the wall for a hundred fucking years.
I seriously don't get it.
How many of us have preached it for years to our unarmed neighbors, friends, family and acquaintances that it's time to stop playing the role of victim and arm your ass? And how many of them have scoffed and ignored the warnings, only to see now that the government really is serious about disarming the American populace. They are alarmed and panicked, but the writing has been on the wall for a hundred fucking years.
It was never was a joke, but they always said a gun ban could never happen in America and wrote us off as paranoid kooks. I bet the folks who own semi autos in New York are no longer saying they'll never do it. And now the same people who never thought it would happen here have gone out to snatch up every last rifle, pistol, magazine, round of ammo, reloading die, jug of powder, box of primers and bag of projectiles that they could get their hands on, causing a bubble in the gun market when there's an uncountable number of guns in the country.
In a society where people recognized the state has no authority to regulate weapons (exactly as the plain text of the Second Amendment says), the politicians would never consider mentioning a gun law. Instead, even the allegedly pro-gun people in America will often say they support background checks, waiting periods, restrictions on full auto, etc.
These allegedly pro-gun folks say things like "I support gun rights, but there has to be some control on who can get access to weapons." The criminals don't give a fuck about the laws, but here go the "pro-gun" folks advocating the regulation of the weapons owned by the people who aren't a threat. The mindset is so absurdly contradictory, like asking for a square circle or a unicorn with a seat belt.
At least he included shipping
Lots of folks bought with the intention of reselling at a profit. There are numerous stories of non-gun owners buying ammo.
If you peruse the for sale forum you'll see the $30 AR mags aren't moving as they were a few weeks ago, the $350 jug of Varget is still available and the $100 per K primers are gathering dust. I believe these people have every right to get every dime possible from any sale, but it won't break my heart if they get stuck with supplies they can't use or have to suffer a loss on resale.

The day's a comin.' My boss suddenly became very interested in ARs around last December (never expressed much interest in firearms, at all). That's all he talked about. Bought two bottom tier M4s at top tier prices. Asked me to find magazines and ammo. He managed to find eight mags and a couple hundred rounds of ammo. For weeks it was all he talked about. Still hasn't fired a round and I expect he will sell everything off by the end of the year.
^^^this! We need more voters that are also gun owners, concerned citizens
More likely he will keep them in a safe and when the next domestic terror event occurs buy a couple more.
I dont mean to keep asking the same question over and over..... but why are people suddenly selling up now? Whats changed?
on a side note: I would have presumed that the average joe who bought guns and bullets in a panic will just hold onto them when the bubble bursts. I mean 1000 rounds of 9mm (as someone said above) is always gonna come in handy. Even if you werent much of a shooter and it took you years to get through them... its still something your gonna use. Its like having crates of toilet roll in the garage. Might take a few years to use it all, but no point in selling it once you have it.
Actually, I hope the new buyers don't sell a thing. If these people have been awakened, we should be offering to assist them in becoming proficient with their firearms. We're all better off when law abiding citizens are armed and knowledgeable - IMHO!
Some 4895 would be nice! 175gr SMK's wouldn't be bad either.
I am still concerned about the long term supply and legality as a high volume shooter.
I am also concerned about those who do not prepare for shortages and spew hate toward those who profit from their improvidence. Humans are shallow and self serving. On both sides of the issue. Why hate the guy who acted, planned, purchased and sold at a profit? Why does he owe you, the improvident one cheap primers or ammo?

A lot of the panic buyers I know from work (none of them 2A guys and most voted socialist party lines anyways) bought everything during the panic on plastic. They will be selling in the next few months I think. As their 0% on transfers from one card to another expires and they didnt get their refi due to being upside down or not qualifiying they will be in a tight spot. Most of them have 100-200 rds and 2 mags and havent fired their ARs.
Honestly not sure these guys are worth a damn as gun owners, that they ever will learn how to run their firearms proficiently (admitting I need more practice at the same time I type this) and will forget all about this the next time it comes to vote and will have long abandoned the 2A bandwagon that seemed so important to all of them AFTER the last election.
Maybe if you took the initiative and took them out shooting, they would see the light and start voting WITH us.
While I haven't purchased anything with the intent to sell, I have been chastised for "hoarding" components. I learned long ago to say a couple years ahead. IF I decided to sell any components, I would get every dime possible. If a friend needed components to get by for awhile, I would give them to him.
