i'm about to receive my firste deviant built and i'd like to keep it raw stainless but i'm a bit worry about the rust that could appears as it will be mostly use as a 2/3days hunting rifle;
as i saw a few stainless action,what does their owner think ?

Keep it lightly coated with oil or grease and you should be good

unfortunately when i ordered it from defiance machine i didn't know it could be nitride and i don't know any company that could do it( in France)..
the only coated option could be ,to have it duracoted(too thick i heard?)or cerakoted(better option i think?).
i like the look of the stainless so a matte clear cerakote could be fine but i don't know if it exists?

Leave it stainless then. I wouldn't cerakote it. Not unless someone can do the microslick version there.

Nice build. How much clearance do you have between the barrel and scope? What height Seekins rings?

Not much. I'm using high rings (1") and I still had to shave off a little bit of the plastic off the bottom of the objective flip cover so that it cleared the barrel. I haven't measured, but I'm guessing I have ~.100"-.150" clearance now
Thanks for the info. Was curious since i have a Deviant Elite with MTU barrel coming that I will be topping with the same NF scope in ARC Medium (1.1”) rings. Will definitely be a tight squeeze, but planning on running without the front cap.
Mine is an M24. I think between no cap, and slightly higher rings, you should be gtg
My rifle is the first pic on this thread and that is a mtu barrel with arc medium rings. Perfect height for me, any lower You would have to trim the caps a little

FYI, in case this is what's holding you back on using a flip cap, it literally took me two seconds to shave the bit of plastic I needed to shave with a utility knife from the included NF caps, and I'm not even sure you're going to need that with another .100" of height on your rings.
If all goes as planned, I'll get it put together this weekend and see where I land with it. No issues with trimming the flip cap if needed. I'll post up a pic once I have it together.
It won't help someone in France, but for those in the US, we suggest for DLC Club Custom Guns, and for nitride either H&M Metal Processing or MMI Tru-Tech.
Just about done. Deviant Elite, Bartlein 6.5 CM, and Nightforce ATACR 7-35 sitting in an MDT ACC. Ended up not needing to trim the front flip cap on the Nightforce with the MTU barrel. Waiting on the Area 419 bolt knob which I was hoping would show up today and then she'll be done. Just need to pickup a case of Berger 6.5 CM ammo and it's range time.
sweet looking builds. can't wait till next spring so I can build up a 300 WM.
