Hey guys, I'm a new member. Just got my first bolt action rifle, a remington 700 aac-sd and vortex viper hs-t on the way. I'm wondering if you can post pics of your aac-sd's? Looking for ideas on stocks, bolt knobs etc. if there was a remington 700 pic thread I guess that would work by i searched and didn't find one. Thanks!

Traded a good one I had, but here's some pics of it as it evolved.

Rem 700 AAC-SD in a McMillan A5 in Gap camo. Suppressor cover and stock pack from Triad in coyote brown.

Added a Badger mini tactical bolt knob, put it in an HS Precision 5R takeoff stock to save some weight for hunting season and krylon camo'd the whole thing. The muzzle brake is a SAS TOMB for the can.

Later I put it back in the McMillan A5 with the Badger Ordnance mini knob and same Krylon job on the action.

I changed out the Xmark trigger for an old style trigger as soon as I got it. Liked it much better.

I bought mine in 300 Blackout at a gunshow 3 weeks ago and it looked like this.

The next day I ditched the Hogue, made and installed a bolt knob, JB'd the bore, installed the US Optics and AICS.

Yesterday I was bored and did this.....swapped skins, fluted the barrel and Duracoated the barreled action OD green and flutes tactical black just to see how it would look.

Have killed a few hogs with it already. So far I am digging this little thing though it's way to heavy.

El gordo,

Nicely done. Digging the two tone coating.

Regards, Paul

AR Performance muzzle brake, Atlas bipod, bedded HS Precision Police stock with PTG DBM, Triad stock pack, my own bolt knob, 20 MOA EGW base bedded and pinned plus 8-40 screws upgrade, Seekins low rings, March F 3-24x42 FML-1 w/illum., po' boy throw lever, trigger spring from Ernie the Gunsmith. All work done by me (except the camo, stock was donated by a generous Hide member).

What stock is that on the one in the middle?

MY 20 inch AAC-SD with Manners MCS-T with mini chassis, Badger bolt knob, Badger base and Rings, Weaver Tactical scope and RAD brake. Did not like the weight for a hunting rifle, so it's gone now. Will post pics of it's replacement when I get some.

OK, crappy pic, but here is the lighter replacement for the 20 inch AAC-SD. It is a 16.5 inch AAC-SD, Manners 90% carbon MCS-T with mini chassis, Seekins aluminum rail, Seekins/Vortex aluminum rings, Midway special Vortex 5-15 scope, Eagle stock pack , and LRI fluted bolt from thr GB.

Every time I see this picture, I smile...nothing super-special but a fine looking rifle.

If Remington would make the AAC-SD chambered in 260, I wouldn't be able to throw my Visa at them fast enough.

I think it's the hardwood floor that makes it pop...lol Anyway, it's sitting in the safe now. My GAP 6.5CM gets all the attention now.
When I shoot the barrel out of this one I plan on keeping the barrel the same contour but considering 6.5CM...So I get what you are saying.

aac-sd w/aac 51 tooth blackout
badger knob and timney trigger both by CCA
aics 2.0 dipped in Kryptec by Revelation Arms
badger base, rail
Leupold MK4 6.5-20x50 w/TMR
Atlas bipod and spigot

How much weight did the barrel flute remove? I have been thinking about doing it but have not found a place in Virginia that I trust. Going to look more into it when I move to Florida in a few months.

This is my AACwith the few mods I have made to it to get the most from it .
Rifle Basix trigger to replace the Rem Xmark
HS precision stock and bottom metal kit
TS engineering Spiral break
La Rue 0 MOA base
Night force rings
A coat of Cerakoate FDE
And a Leupold VXR Patrol / waiting for the NF 2.5-10x42 to Arrive in Australia

Wow. That is one rockin' ass rig. I have a virgin 700 AAC 300 Blackout rig on its way right now. I was thinking of going the same route as you with the AICS. But I am guessing that is the reason for your comment on its weight? Would you pick a different stock of you were to do it over again? And what loads are you using for pigs?

Here's mine. Three of us all got AAC-SDs. Two of them shot 3/4MOA (once they switched to M40A1s) with 175 Fed GMM. Mine was a roughly 2 MOA gun. So... Manners T3, Badger knob and bottom metal, Timney at 2.5#, Bartlein 1:10 21", trued by SAC, NF F1, AAC MK13-SD... It shoots bug holes with 178 A-Maxs. It is very picky about ammo and only shoots the heavy stuff well... took a while to find the magic load It can reach down into the teens, and is always 1/2 MOA or less. I have the AAC SD 300 Blackout on the way and some posting here are giving me inspiration.

I love this thread!

Nothing fancy here. AAC-SD barreled action in an AICS with viper skins, Harris Bipod w/podloc, KRG bolt lift, JP large brake, Bushnell 3.5-21x50 w/G2DMR reticle mounted in Seekins 34mm high rings on a Weaver 20moa rail. Solid gun and extremely fun to shoot.

Alright dudes here she is. First bolt action rifle. Mocked up the scope, will be getting different rings pretty soon though.

I miss my 700 AAC-SD. It started life out with me in an AICS 1.5 stock, which I just despised. After it moved to a McMillan A5, life was good, but I caught a great deal on a Krieger .264 barrel, so it went off to the gunsmith to be trued and rebarrelled to 6.5 Creedmoor. In keeping with the AAC-SD model, I even put an AAC 51T brake on the Krieger, and hopefully an AAC can will be in my budget in the near future.

The A5 was traded out for a folding stock XLR so I didn't have to chop the Krieger short. I'm told the last few parts of the build have shipped from PTG to the gunsmith, so my fingers are crossed that I can get in some shooting while the weather is still mild.

It's had over a 1000 rounds through it all still holds a tight clover , with slight changes in batch to batch of the R15 the barrel has speeded up since it was new from approx 3,950 to present of 4,059 ft/sec for the 52g A-max . It's dropping 0.5 inch at 200 & approx 5 inches at 300 yards . What are you using ?

I LITERALLY just got this stock 1 hour ago. B&C Light Tactical #2956 from Stockys. Barrel is completely floated. Sure fire brake, NF NXS, badger metal, everything else is factory. Got a 40x trigger, just haven't had time to put it on yet. I must say I'm DEEPLY impressed with the overall feel of the stock. Have had a few HS Precisions and this feels way better. It's light but very stable. Grip feels great, not to big.... Not to thin. I feel like an idiot for not putting this stock on a bunch of my sps's. you CAN'T beat the price tag
