Lilja AR-10 Barrels

Re: Lilja AR-10 Barrels

I have one of their fluted ar-24 barrels on my AR-15. It is the most accurate of the 4 AR's that I have and as accurate as any rifle I own. It cleans up with little effort and shoots hundreds of rounds without any loss in accuracy. They are not as popular as Krieger or Rock here on the Hide, but I will definately buy again.

Re: Lilja AR-10 Barrels

Thank you very much sir! As Lilja is a well-known name in barrel making, I was wondering if it would get better or equal (or worse) marks with all the other high-quality barrel makers such as Rock, Krieger, Bartlein, Noveske, etc etc...

Very glad to hear that your experience was a good one. Being that noone has voiced a negative experience, I believe I will be giving one of these a try in the near future.

Good to know it. Suppose you needed a new barrel, would you favor a Lilja above or beneath another brand?

Re: Lilja AR-10 Barrels

I was considering a different brand for my DPMS .308, but, bought a Lija. I had it in 2 days. It seems like a really nice barrel, but, I've only tried a few different loads through it. It shoots ragged little holes at 100 yards with a lot of loads, and at 200, will keep some under an inch. I think the barrel shoots better than the shooter.

Re: Lilja AR-10 Barrels

Had a Lilja barrel on a dedicated AR15 upper made by Derrick Martin of Accuracy Speaks. It was a beautiful barrel (I have a borescope), was a hammer, and cleaned very easily. I would not hesitate to buy another from Lilja.

Re: Lilja AR-10 Barrels

I would buy another Lilja barrel. They are shooters. The only barrel I might take above a Lilja is a Krieger, and that has nothing to do with performance. I just like dealing with the boys over at Krieger. They have always taken care of me.

Correct me if Im wrong, but doesnt Noveske get his barrels from some one else? I've heard Pacnor was his supplier lately.

I don't know about that... In any case, Noveske seems to have a good reputation among their users, whether they are actually manufacturing them or not.

Noveske uses Pac-Nor machines, but Novekse tooling and labor.

My understanding of it is that It's actually Pac-Nor guys that work for Noveske part time on the same machines but using Noveske specs.

The "how" doesn't so much matter to me. It's the "what" that I care about. Mine is a shooter.
