Gents I know this question must be asked a bit but bear with me.

La101 is generally regarded as a touch more accurate than a cz. But the cz mtr has a match chamber.

Also I'm wanting to shoot Cci sv through it I have a V22 on order but want a accurate plinker that isn't a fussy eater.

Currently I use my marlin xt 22's but may as well flog them off and a hen001 to get a new gun.

Should mention as I'm a aussie the lithrow is actully a touch cheaper.

Not a fan of tikkas

Would consider another cz model.

Also I know no one can guantee a xxx gun will shoot Cci sv that's fine just many guns either love or hate them.

Before anyone asks my v22 will get premium ammo I've been grabbing Alot old stock ammo as there has been 2 x 10% price rises on it. Plus a brick gets you 5% off.

They were out of sk magazine so new price was $139.
Bought a brick of sk red and yellow for $142 each (old stock) . So sk magazine is not worth it.

Also grabbed a eley 500 bulk box, bought a tin of sk magazine at another store for $99

Went and bought another 2 bricks of sk yellow/red.

Then have some Norma, center x, few different elly 50 packs, fed gold match.

So the v22 will be getting a healthy feed

Before you buy too much Eley ammo the newer Vudoo’s don’t seem to chamber it well. It shoots great but is really hard to load. Anything SK or Lapua chambers and shoots great however. I have also found the cheap Geco to shoot really well if you can find it.

On the subject of the CZ, I have a 457 pro Varmint. Some CCI it shoots great, some not so much. CCI is just so inconsistent it is really lot dependent. Mine loves SK ammo of any flavor though.

Geco is order in and hence new price we only get geco 22lr and 22lr semi auto.

Dont want them to order it in by the case so I can try 1 or 2 packs.

I only bought a box or 2 of each elly well and the bulk 500. Ive bought it before and can't remember having issues.

Cci sv is $450 per 5000 here sk red/yellow would be $1350. Cci sv is the go to for my model 41's and seems to be a "great" in most guns I have.

The varmint has a different chamber, I'm pretty sure. Cci seems to have 1000 different ammos which always annoys me. But I have most here but only buy cci sv in any volume the rest are more for novelty than anything.
Admittly the copper projectile are great for plinking reactive targets such as shovels, oil drums and other thinner metals.

Could/should just keep the marlins but I've had a shit few weeks at work and handle stress buy getting firearms, plus I've started to thin the l collection as I have guns I've never shot.

The issue I have with Eley is only with my Vudoo. Due to the shape of the bullet it gets pushed into the lands. It just makes chambering a round difficult. If you are just bench shooting it probably will not be an issue. You just need to really slam the bolt home to get it to chamber.

I'll prolly give the elly a miss on the vudoo then. Still have 3000 rounds of sk/lapula sitting here. But 15000 Cci sv and 5-10000 of other brands here.

Not to horde in fear of it disappearing but to beat price rises. We never had shortages a few years ago nor do we now.

We need to buy in bulk to get a deal here. Plus I'm a sucker for a freebe. Free ammo can if I buy 1000 rounds of 223 well don't mind if I do.

I can't speak to the 101, but my MTR is shooting fairly well with SK Biathlon, as does my Vudoo V22. I don't know what aftermarket support is like for the 101 in Australia, but the CZ has a strong aftermarket support structure here in the states. So, I'd pick based on what you want to do with the rifle. If you want a 20-30 MOA base for LR shooting, different bolt handle and chassis support, go CZ. If you want to try out what seems to be a really nice .22 with a lot of potential, the Lithgow seems to have promise.

I'm not wanting to shoot sk ammo in either I'm wanting a gun that can handle Cci and other non match ammo. If I want to shoot sk I'll just use the vudoo (when it arrives) I pretty much want a trainer for my v22 trainer.

As far as suppurt goes the cz has more but I'm not looking at a match gun don't even want to change the barrel.

Cci sv is 4c compared to sk 8c and lap center x's 11c

While I may agree match ammo in the cz/101 would get me better results I just want to use cheap ammo.

Put it this way I have race preped zr1 vette on e85 (v22) but I'm after daily driver that can handle pump gas with the odd bit of race fuel if needed. Don't need the daily driver to be anything fancy or do any work to it.

Using a CZ as a trainer for a Vudoo may not be the best option. You would be much better off just finding a cheap ammo that the Vudoo likes. In general my Vudoo shoots cheap ammo almost as good as my other rifles shoot good ammo. The reason I wouldn’t use CZ as a trainer is the bolt throw. I was shooting a T1X last season and it took me some time to get used to the different bolt throw of the Vudoo. I didn’t have as much trouble as some others because I shoot center fire rifles with a 90 degree bolt throw quite a bit. Others who have been exclusively shooting rifles with 60 degree bolt throw have more trouble. To me it sounds like you just want another rifle which is fine. I have plenty of 22’s just because I wanted one. Buying a trainer for your trainer doesn’t really make a lot of sense in this case though.

Yea maybee trainer for a trainer wasn't the correct term. A good out the box shooter for Cci sv and other similar ammo.

My current bolt actions are marlin xt 22's x 3 and a Henry hen001 (base model) just got rid of my ruger precision rimfire as its a cheap action in a tactikool chassis that's all plastic and my marlin out shot it.but admit it has its place for a trainer.

I really don't shoot precession centerfire either my local range is 300yards had a 6.5cm but that's a waste at that distance, still have a 223 and 308's if I feel like cf action.

Hey mate, I have a Lithgow LA101 and it shoots CCI Standards pretty well. I only have maybe 400 or so rounds through it, mainly a combination of the CCI and Winchester 42gr subs which it shoots to the same POI. No photos of groups unfortunately but can't complain for the price of the ammo

No matter what you get chances are the Vudoo will outshoot it. Mine shoots pretty much anything I put in it well. It shoots Eley amazing, it is just difficult to chamber. I keep going back and trying it and it seems to chamber easier the more I shoot the rifle. For what it‘s worth my CZ will not shoot anything made by Eley well and is hit or miss with CCI. This has been the case with everyone I know who has a CZ here. That is a small sample of 6 rifles but all shoot it equally poorly. I know you said you are not a Tikka fan but my T1x would shoot anything I put in it well and some ammo amazing. Next to my Vudoo my Tikka is hands down my most consistently accurate rifle. Yes, incase you were wondering I have entirely too many rimfire rifles.

It's all we can have in aus.

No doubt the vudoo will out shoot it. Just don't want to force close 100 Cci rounds into it week after week, then need to shoot a good string of sk/lap.

In all honesty the marlin would do job for practise/plinking but your know more money than sence.
Plus we do have a hunter class Benchrest comp v22 is way to heavy 80% of people (that are there for more than just fun using what ever is in the safe ) use a cz there.

Ill look at the tikka but when a mate bought his cf tikka and plastic mag crapped out they just wanted him to buy a metal mag.

The b14-r won't hit here till 2020.

What's the price range on CCI and SK in Australia? Personally I've not had the success with CCI that I've had will SK. SK has always been the better value.

As to EOD Dave's comment on a Vudoo shooting cheap ammo well, I've had good success with my Vudoo using Geco Rifle. Yes it has fliers, but at $2 a box it is amazingly consistent. If I get the time, I'll post a couple 6x5's with the Vudoo and Geco.

OK this is approx cost per 50 sk have had 2 x 10% increases this year presume its simiar for other brands.
Cci sv $4.50 (I have 12000ish already)
Sk red/yellow $15 (old stock has went up. Since)
Lapula center x $22 (only lap they stock)
Federal gold match $22
Elly club was $20 (plus have some force and few others)
Elly bulk 500 $89 (old stock)

Picked up a can of old stock sk mag for $89
New cans will be $139 for 500

I buy bulk win white box 9mm for approx $350 for 1000 so most target 22lr is over 9mm ammo cost.

Local stores do not stock geco 22lr I can get a case ordered in but we can simply not mail order ammo as its a dangerous good and is approx $300 delivery.
May see if I can get a price for a case of gecko match 22lr.
