Call me crazy, but I didn't realize Dwilson did URX conversion on the MWS quad. So am really leaning towards selling the LM8 upper to grab a quad. Is there still a market for such? What's the going value for an LM8 this day in age?

They did a blowout sale for around 500(LM8 no barrel) and after that, around there is where I’ve seen a few LM8’s for sale price wise. If you bought it not during that sale, I doubt you’ll see near what you spent. Which is why I’ll just keep mine! I got mine second hand for $700 with nearly $200 worth of accessories. So wasn’t a bad deal by any means. Quads seem to carry a much higher price tag. They did a blowout sale for around 500(LM8 no barrel) and after that, around there is where I’ve seen a few LM8’s for sale price wise. Absolutely. Just a matter of the right buyer/right time. I’m not a huge mlok fan. I prefer either quad or the LM8 system. I mean I imagine you could get 500 for the stripped upper no prob if it’s in good shape for the guys that missed the deal!I got mine second hand for $700 with nearly $200 worth of accessories. For sure it’s like new. In excellent condition. Just wonder what a quad would run me. Probably 1000 or so. I’ll likely just get the lower get it together run it till i feel like switchingAbsolutely. I would for sure. You might just find that you don’t need the quad URX drip down the lineFor sure it’s like new. In excellent condition. Just wonder what a quad would run me. Probably 1000 or so. I’ll likely just get the lower get it together run it till i feel like switching
It’ll definitely be later down the line. I don’t have a need other than i love the aesthetic and don’t wanna source KAC stuff (hence my MGL110 venture with the sabre10)I would for sure. You might just find that you don’t need the quad URX drip down the line. I’m running mine as a relatively light set up MWS lower, LM8 upper, LW SS 16” barrel. Super happy with it. Although I must admit the quad URX is sick. Yeah the quads are still going for 1k or more. I’d wait till around Christmas time and see. LMT does a bunch of sales around then.
Do you know who is making the barrels?Re: LMT .308 MWS

Or paint the rifle to match the cover. So this is going to sound very vain (because it is).
Who thinks the suppressor cover is the wrong color? I really don't want to buy another offing cover but everyone I run into keeps bringing it up so vanity might make me....

I've gotten 3 mlok mwsLs and one mesh in the last few months. Finish wise they are not show queens, definitely not as nice as my old quad rail mrps but I expect them to work fineWhat is the current quality of LMT these days?
The MWS seems like an interesting system, but the reports of QA/QC issues is a bit off-putting.
I would. I regret getting my XM3 suppressor cover in multicam blackSo this is going to sound very vain (because it is).

Ranger Green is always the answer.I would. I regret getting my XM3 suppressor cover in multicam black
The Sniper’s Hide answer is to buy a new suppressor cover. Also, keep this cover, and buy a new rifle/suppressor combo so the cover doesn’t just sit in a box.So this is going to sound very vain (because it is).

I haven't purchased anything in the past year, but just looking around the various message boards, it doesn't seem like there's a bad batch of anything floating around. What is the current quality of LMT these days?

I’d buy one if I wanted it.What is the current quality of LMT these days?

I have bought a MARS-H and a MARS-L in the past 6 months. They are comparable to the MWS that I bought 10 years ago and to my KAC guns. What is the current quality of LMT these days?

The guns come with H3’s. Unless you’re using an 18 or 20” factory barrel that’s been chopped, H3 is what you’ll want.Well I snagged a stripped lower and roll pins. Didn't realize the stripped lower came with the ambi parts installed. Made for a decent buy at $485.
Buffer tube wise I can just snag a A5, H2 buffer, and braided spring and go right?
A5 is a hair longer than the Lmt 308 tube. It will work but I’m not sure if you’ll have bolt catch issues long term.Well I snagged a stripped lower and roll pins. Didn't realize the stripped lower came with the ambi parts installed. Made for a decent buy at $485.

It is a 18” that has been chopped to 17” and has a Seekins adjustable. So maybe H2?The guns come with H3’s. Unless you’re using an 18 or 20” factory barrel that’s been chopped, H3 is what you’ll want.
I’d use a LMT or Armalite AR10 spring
I had read they were the exact same length is it better to just go with LMTs buffer tube assembly and be done?A5 is a hair longer than the Lmt 308 tube. It will work but I’m not sure if you’ll have bolt catch issues long term.
I’ve used the A5 tubes on builds with a lot of rounds through them with no issues.A5 is a hair longer than the Lmt 308 tube. It will work but I’m not sure if you’ll have bolt catch issues long term.
I had an 18” chopped to 16” and it needs an H to run reliably so you may be right. It is a 18” that has been chopped to 17” and has a Seekins adjustable. So maybe H2?

Details on both please but especially the top? Super curious about the can? I'm trying to find an over the barrel reflex style can like this for my mars h dmr 6.5.Posted this in a few other LMT pages... but I'm supper stoked with how well this build is coming together. Can is still in jail, so I can't paint it or stretch its legs yet.

And while we're at it, my "battle rifle" 13.5 .308.

If I understand your meaning. I strongly disagree. IMO MWS is a cornerstone in AR development. LMT pushed the industry with the most rigid, repeatable upper with LMT barrels, not aftermarket. People have taken upon themselves to add barrels for calibers not offered by LMT or for lighter weight and in some instances more accurate barrels. Nothing wrong with LMT barrels. So correct me if i am wrong, and no harmful intentions here... The only thing LMT 308 MWS is good for tearing apart, adding other manufacturer's barrels etc to make something out of....
I wouldn't personally agree but to each their own, I'd say the MWS platform is the large frame lego set for shooters. I've had excellent results from factory LMT SS and chrome barrels, haven't had a reason to use other manufacturer's barrels. Still the best large frame pattern package out there in my opinion, that's just me though. So correct me if i am wrong, and no harmful intentions here... The only thing LMT 308 MWS is good for tearing apart, adding other manufacturer's barrels etc to make something out of....
Seriously? This thread is 107 pages, most of the guns posted here are close to stock configuration and that is your take? OK.So correct me if i am wrong, and no harmful intentions here... I’ve never had any problems with LMT barrels. Their cut rifled stainless barrels shoot as good as other custom cut rifled barrels I have. Their chrome lined barrels shoot good as well.So correct me if i am wrong, and no harmful intentions here... They are nice. I like the Seekins platform also.Meh... Adm receivers over lmt or kac any day honestly....
When can we expect a video?I love the look of the MWS with the M110 style can! Can't wait to get her to the range to see how she shoots!
Hopefully in the next couple of weeks! When can we expect a video?
