Looking for a good heavy duty sling

Looking for a good leather sling for my rifle. Rifle comes in at 17 pounds. What can you guys recommend.

Do you have to have leather? Is it merely for lugging it around? Will it serve a more functional purpose?

Do tell.

Originally I was thinking just to lug it around, but I would like to use it for getting into more stable shooting positions such as sitting standing etc. it does not have to be leather

I have this sling and it's by far my favorite.

I use the TIS Slip Cuff QD. The cuff can cinch on the arm and clips on and off the sling. At just under 1.5" wide, it's quite comfortable on the arm and can handle any stick I have put it on.

17 pounds isn't overly heavy. Same weight as most of my rifles and the above slings work just fine.

I just went through the "I need a sling" dilemma. It was a very tough choice but I ended up buying the rifle only bungee. It seems to be the best of everything sling,. Incorporating unique features of all the other slings on the market. I will say it is a quality made product but you pay for it.

I run the Rifles Only Carbine sling, though the precision rifle one might be better, but I've only ever used the carbine version.

Very happy with it. TAB Gear makes good slings as well.
