Looking for a PEQ 2A

I was working all week so I only had time to follow this thread by bits and pieces. If I am correct, the PEQ is a unit that emits an invisible IR beam that is strong enough to cause permanent eye damage, is it? Couple that with the latest trick from the ANTIFA playbook involving the use of lasers to blind police officers and just how fucking thirsty and desperate this guy was trying to get his hands on one, this was shady and suspicious as all hell and I can see 99% of the membership caught onto it right away.

This is an especially dangerous and make-or-break period of time right now and I SERIOUSLY hope everybody out there are screening potential buyers of any weapons/ammo/tactical gear. I would not sell a fucking butter knife to somebody if they have as much as a "Biden 2020" decal on their FB/whatever posts.
Plus I think civvie-legal "safe" versions of the PEQ-2 are out there. Dunno how hard they'd be to find now but I think they were made. For sure EOTech makes a civvie-legal PEQ-15. Could be OP was asking for one of those or was just ignorant of things. But what do I know, I don't have 35 HVT kills...

The only issue with the civvie legal PEQ clones are they are probably not powerful enough to burn somebody's retinas... This guy was looking for a milspec unit with as much desperation and fervor as a snakebite victim looking for a vial of antivenom... That first page was WEIRD as fuck, bro... Some of the posters had linked him to the civvie legal versions which are sold everywhere in airsoft shops... He ain't looking for these, obviously.

ETA: Notice how he tried to pass it off in his followup posts that he was actually a fed LEO going after people selling stolen military equipment... If that is actually the case, he would have disappeared as soon as the forum body started to clown him, not made any followups, and DEFINITELY not say he was a fed...

Friggen rookie. I've litterally killed hundreds....maybe a thousand, hell I've lost count. I've killed hundreds with a 22lr out to 300yds. Pistols, gassers, even lever actions in pistol calibers.
I'm a murdering bastard.

I'm still a certified operator, but I'm retired. I kill HVTs just shits and giggles.

(See my previous post)

True. And it may be I was incorrect about PEQ-2 clones being made (I mean ones that, aside from the laser, are structurally identical and not made from Chinese plastic and an LED, like the available PEQ-15), too.

The cheap ones are probably powered by just an IR LED emitter, as opposed to IR photons that have been lased. Years back, there was a very cheap childrens' model nightvision headset called the 'Eyeclops' that had a single LED bulb in the front that throws out a beam of IR light barely more powerful than a TV remote. The unit was for use in backyards and basements up to no more than 10 yards away. I would suppose the airsoft "PEQs" are similar. Instead of lased light, it probably just throws a strong beam of mirror focused IR up to a certain distance like a Maglite cap twisted to spot mode. The milspec PEQ would be an actual IR laser that had been passed through crystals and such.

Civi lasers/illum are mostly shit tier. Then there's the MAWL that skirts the regulations by using some phased emitter witchcraft loophole.

Peq2A and Peq15s are not illegal to own unless they are stolen .gov property. They are regulated by the FDA due to the laser strength thus making L3 and whoever else makes/has made them in the past basically self restrict sales to .mil and police direct orders only.

Basically there are no laws/regulations against selling or owning one. The manufacturers decided to just restrict who they sell them to.
