Have a no frills lower all together and was just gonna buy a complete Aero or PSA upper cause there are deals to be had but I feel as though I can't quite get what I want.
1. 16"
2. 1/8 twist to shoot xm193 and other lighter bullets as well as 75s and 77s.
3. Non govt profile something a little heavier but not crazy. This is my home defense/plinking/dabbling in 3 gun, gun.
So many brand out there my head is spinning. I'd like to keep the cost around or under 250 at the most. Realize I'm not going for ultimate accuracy (although it never hurts) I have a 18" SPR for that. This will be a red dot gun or 1x6 type optic for uup close.

Also leaning towards buying a built Aero upper receiver but then I'm stuck with the hand guards or can their barrel nut be swapped for an origin because I already have a Troy 15" mlok, SOCOM something or other rail laying around.

I'm considering something very similar. I'm looking at Rainier as a candidate. They have a $205 barrel that meets your specs and seems to review ok. I havent shot one or even decided on it yet, just throwing out some early research.

ARP should do the trick. There's a million barrels out there that fill you criteria, most of them will do what you're asking as long as you stay away from super bargain barrels. McGowen will also make anything you want for around $250.

For home defense you should consider a pistol/SBR build with an 11.5in barrel and a suppressor. Faxon makes a great 11.5in.

For a standard 16in barrel though, you cannot beat the Criterion Hybrid that the Army and Marine Marksmanship teams use for the money.

i would have to say Craddock rock creek barrel for around 275. I have two of them from him an 11.5" and a 14.5" both Rock, and they booth shoot well under one inch. Even the 11.5" with a 1-4 scope. He does great work and his prices are amazing.

They're not cheap but I have a JP 16" barrel and it has shot extremely well since day 1. It seems to meet all of your requirements.

I thought he wanted to keep the cost below $250 & realizes he won't get ultimate accuracy..............................kinda conflicts with putting a JP or any other similar high end precision barrel on, at least as I read the requirements.

I just built up and AR for my son and got a good deal on a Faxon. We had it at the range last week for the first time and was pretty impressed. I'm pretty sure they make one with your requirements. That being said, you can't go wrong with White Oak, Criterion or Krieger. They've been doing the AR custom barrel thing for a long time. I have used all three throughout my 40+ years of shooting sports and they always performed.

Ballistics advantage makes a fluted 16" all in your specs, I had to work hard to find a round that was Truly 1MOA but I did.
A 3 shot 100 yard Guarantee, is not really anything good and doesn't say much about any barrel.
10 shot at 200 yards, holding 2" should be that standard, if you're looking at 3gun. Home defense, it just needs to go bang and be reliable.
I have found little REAL difference in uppers, If you can put hands on the one your buying you can make sure it mates with your lower, they both have to be milled to spec to keep them tight.
